Why costumers from China so impatient?

  • GFW(Chinese Internet cencership) is the reason. Many chinese customers who have no experience on VPS want to rent VPS as private proxy server. They are not familiar with computers. Their online shopping experience is only Taobao, where seller response their message in 5 minutes.

Because Chinese people are used to getting customer support within hours. In the world’s largest e-commerce site, Taobao.com, There will be customer support within three minutes Even in the middle of the night,Even a small E-shop.

  • Some Chinese have represented all Chinese again.

1,I think you need more patience.

2,Many people think that the dispute is a refund.

3,The problem has nothing to do with the country, the language, the color of the skin.

They need the service fast before GFW blocks the IP.

How is it racist to think about blocking a country if it could harm your business?

If you keep receiving PayPal disputes it could effect your PayPal account and they could freeze your balance. If you think these disputes add up to a point where you can't keep handling them I'd consider blocking China.

Chinese in China wont be able to deal with you but Chinese in general are still welcome.

Happens often in USA and EU zones due to politics.

why mention taobao ? why expect other country will do the same with taobao ? this doesn't make sense. as far i know, when you bought something from other country. it's you that need to follow their rules.

this is low end talk, some provider is operated by single person. you want 24/7 support ? go with azure, aws, do, etc.

for OP, maybe you can follow some provider here where customer need to sign-up first, so you can do manual verification (request id card and bill if needed) before they can order any service. at least you can minimize the issue.

The GFW exists to protect the Chinese Communist leadership from losing their power.

is it bad ? can republic, democracy, etc achieve economy growth like the communist did ? i mean we need to understand culture, maybe communist is the best fit for china. example: they have billion people, if they adopt democracy ... there would be mass protest everytime the leader take action.

other story, our country forbid child porn. and the country create a firewall to fight againts it. and there some people use proxy from other country to access. if you the leader, what do you do ?

It's fun to see some provider complain about their job of handling customers.

Now, potential customers will start thinking of getting away from them.

Maybe but if those customers are the ones creating to most ticket workload the provider might actually make some money by losing them.

You can almost tell how a customer is going to behave by just looking at how they post on forums.

The noisy ones are almost never worth time & efforts spent on'em because they are never grateful for what's been given. They feel entitled rather.

We have a lot of chinese customer and I can't see any difference to other customers. As long as you communicate well with them (in tickets and on your website) they don't expect wonders or impossible things.

  • Even if they open a dispute with Paypal, you can still show Paypal the proofs that you have delivered them the server and Paypal will close the case in your favor.
In my case chinese clients are really friendly and funny. Don't know why it is happening with you. Also, you can lock different Payment gateways for chinese clients which do not have this buyer protection system like Paypal.

We have many Chinese customers and have had less than a handful of issues. On par with any other country.

I would recommend not blocking the country. As others said, maybe try to add more communication around proper expectations.

For instance, our auto-responder that is sent after a ticket is created clearly states (in bold red letters) when the support staff is available in our native eastern time US timezone.

We also use a real-time language translator within our chat application. This allows the customer to speak in their native language and see replies in their native language.

I have asked a few customers if this is useful and they have said it helps quite a bit.

Sorry for their behavior has caused you trouble, but not all ethnic Chinese are like this that they are only a small part of us, be honest I think most Chinese still relatively polite, may be occasional misunderstandings due to language barriers and cultural differences because most Chinese do not understand English very well (。・ω・。)

Rude and savage people all over the world, not only in certain countries or regions so the behavior of minorities does not represent their country and nation. I'm even more discouraged from provoking racial discrimination (´・・)ノ(._.`)

Users want to get rapidly support but they didn’t notice the timezone difference each other,in fact Cloud service providers in China including Alibaba Cloud also haven't guaranteed for 30-minute response to non-working hours, so you can annotate the working time and the local real-time clock on the support page

If you just want to avoid PayPal disputes,my idea is you can enable Stripe or Paymentwall gateways for AliPay and WeChat Payment in China

  • Here is another suggestion:

When you assign something with an IP address to a customer in China you better check that the IP isn't blocked in China. You can use this website to test websites: https://greatfirewallofchina.org

    Here're the answers from inside:

    1. Most of us didn't have the habit of reading description or tos , cause by the national conditions -> (FAKE legalistic society);

    2. Most of us think that "the customer is god". I paid so I am your dad, you must satisfy me
      ;

    3. There is a phenomenon that we call it "Huge Baby" in China, it means "We just clamour, They will solve.", that's what you saw.

    Anyway, get used to it.
