    Is Vultr still RAID0?

    It never was.

When asked about their storage configuration, they didn't disclose it. Some schmuck started the rumor that they aren't disclosing because it must be RAID 0. The rumor stuck.

    • Multiple servers over the years never having a catastrophic failure. Harzemdesign.com is on vultr as well as my dev servers.

    • A certain lack of floods from people on LET complaining about how Vultr lost their data.

    • Common business sense.

It never was denied. It's a weird policy not to discuss something simple from a company that likes speed.

    Something bad happened here:

But it doesn't mean anything, actually. I'm going to create my servers anyway.

I agree that it's pretty weird for them not to disclose, but I'd assume it's related to something else (maybe SSD-cached instead of full SSD, or a shared SAN with high ping instead of local) but for whatever reason they are keeping the info private, I'm pretty sure it's not because they are using RAID-0.

Stuff can happen. Maybe it happens at Vultr more than any other cloud providers. Maybe their storage config really sucks. But it just never happened to me, and if it was RAID-0 it would happen a lot more than a few tweets suggest.

But it doesn't mean anything, actually. I'm going to create my servers anyway.

    Just keep separate backups :D

And something bad happened here : they have just delete their 512mb tier, completely.

When they are OOS they show up with a notice in there. It's not the case now.

12 months. I've deposited $10 but I don't remember if that was necessary. Probably yes, otherwise I've been out of my mind.
