    Wow, I never get speeds like that from Hetzner to the US. I wonder what's up.

    How you get to final destination varies depending on peering agreement. Some peers are oversubscribed or throttle somewhere so you're not going to get good speeds. Time of day also matters since Netflix & video bandwidth can cause congestion.
