    What’s your point?

@Clouvider said that this discount is recurring, right?

It would be better to articulate what you want to say: those amounts alone don't reveal much.

I guess that you're talking about the Dell R210 ll i3(2) plan that is advertised for £30/month before the 20% discount, in which case you have a point but didn't articulate it well.

Edit: Sorry, never mind -- I hadn't yet seen all of the latest comments.

Or indeed anything at all, besides the fact that Cloudivder sells something for £36.

    Thanks : )

As to ram, it's cheap these days, so passing that along to you guys. Our default minimum is 48gb on these because of that.

For storage servers specifically, more ram is used for disk caching, which can improve i/o performance in many cases. In general though, I agree you wouldn't want to spend a ton of money on ram for the typical storage server use case. The extra ram may come in handy for other use cases.

Exactly, it really depends on the use cases.

It's ideal to resell storage VPSs considering the traffic and port speed being provided, while there will be a bunch of unused RAM for typical storage use (storage cloud solutions).

No one else will be able to help you, but since there was ‘auth only’ I presume authorisation only with no capture, the transaction technically failed and your bank should release it after whatever time it authorised it for.

Madness... it's me! Thank you for honoring me.

The IOFLOOD offer is probably the best one out there.
Though it could be even better and cheaper by reducing RAM, 48GB are useless for a storage dedi. 8GB are more than enough.

But, but, but...what if you wanted to split it into a bunch of storage VPS....?

    Good idea : )

Sorry about the delay there. I believe our staff replied, but I'll mention here in case anyone else has the same issue.

Normally an authonly fail means that your bank rejected our attempt to charge the card. The most common reason for this is a difference between the order details and what is on file with your bank. Occasionally, the bank may reject the charge as they think the purchase is unusual for your spending patterns. We also have maxmind which may reject some orders, but I am not sure if this shows up as "authonly fail" or some other error message.

In any case, there are generally three things you can try:

    1) Double check the contact details on file with your bank, and try ordering again with the same details

    2) Try a different credit card if that doesn't work

    3) Paypal is also an option, and generally does not have this type of issue

Of course, if you are having a problem, and the above steps either don't work, or are not options for you, do contact us and we will do our best to help. support [at] ioflood.com

UPDATE 1: Storage server almost sold out!

UPDATE 2: Two more hot deals posted -- See middle of post below.... = )

As an update, we've had approximately 13 orders at this point. There might be one or two exceptions, but most orders still being processed are 24 hours old or less, with the older ones already out to customers.

Looking at the available servers, it looks like we have 3 more of these we can sell, and then we'll be sold out. Based on the pace of orders, you'll need to order this within the next 24 hours if you want to get one of these.

If you want one of the last ones we've got, here's a copy-paste of the offer:

    IOFLOOD

    • 18TB Mass Storage Server
    • Dual Six Core L5639 CPUs (total of 12 cores / 24 threads)
    • 48gb ram
    • 6x 3TB Hitachi HDD's (software raid)
    • 1gbps public port (20tb / mo outbound, unmetered inbound)
    • 1gbps private port (no cost, available upon request)
    • /29 Primary IP block (5 usable IPs)

    $79/month

    Configure + Order: https://manage.ioflood.com/order/?form_id=167

    Upgrades:

    • 96 GB ram -- $30/month
    • /28 secondary IP block (13 usable IPs) -- $10/month
    • /27 secondary IP block (29 usable IPs) -- $20/month
    • /26 secondary IP block (61 usable IPs) -- $40/month

Thanks everyone for the strong interest! : )

Missed out? I have two new hot offers for you:

    Hot offer A:

    Mid Range VPS Node Server

    • Dual Six Core L5639 CPUs (total of 12 cores / 24 threads)
    • 72gb ram
    • 4x 3TB Hitachi HDD's
    • LSI 9271-4i hardware raid + cachevault BBU
    • 1gbps public port (20tb / mo outbound, unmetered inbound)

    • /26 secondary IP block (Additional 61 usable IPs) -- $40/month

This server comes with a high end hardware RAID for maximum E-Peen DD benchmarks.

We've never offered this kind of price for that kind of server before -- available while supplies last.

    Hot Offer B:

    Heavy CPU Enterprise SSD Server:

    • Dual Eight-Core Intel Xeon E5-2660v1 CPUs (total of 16 cores / 32 threads)
    • 64GB Ram
    • 400GB Intel Enterprise DC S3700 SSD
    • 1gbps public port (20tb / mo outbound, unmetered inbound)
    • 1gbps private port (no cost, available upon request)
    • /29 Primary IP block (5 usable IPs)

    $99 / mo

    Order + Configure: https://manage.ioflood.com/order/?form_id=168

    Available Upgrades:

    • 128 GB Ram: $25 / mo
    • /28 secondary IP block (Additional 13 usable IPs) -- $10/month
    • /27 secondary IP block (Additional 29 usable IPs) -- $20/month
    • /26 secondary IP block (Additional 61 usable IPs) -- $40/month

These enterprise SSDs have crazy performance-consistency and endurance. Random write all day long at 400MB/s!

Rated for 10 DWPD -- that's 10 drive writes per day for 5 years straight!
-- Just try that with a Samsung Pro -- it'll be dead in 2 months!

Add a second drive for RAID 1 redundancy or Raid 0 for twice the performance.

Our best price on these is normally 50-100% more!

There's 10 - 20 of each of the above server models available.

    Available while supplies last.

The fun part is, I did, and replied and then never got a response. HOWEVER, it seems you have no problem with spamming me about all your specials, offering me promo codes to to match my deposit and asking me if I need help getting setup... but interestingly enough, never any credit as was offered by PM here.

I get that a lot of that is probably automated in some way, but this almost seems to me like strike two and I haven't even gotten to test anything. You sure do have my name and e-mail address though and have no issues sending me plenty of e-mail I didn't ask for don't want.

So, bottom line, are you really going to give me any credits or just spam me to death?

    Cheers!
