  • might need to contact vultr billing and ask

  • is it one-time promo or recurring ? or am I just expecting too much for recurring ?

  • 60% off is recurring as long as you start it during the promo and don't end it.

    They use different servers.

    1270 v6. 32 GB RAM, and old discontinued https://ark.intel.com/products/66250/Intel-SSD-520-Series-240GB-2_5in-SATA-6Gbs-25nm-MLC

But I've just got in Ney Jersey

    1270 v5, 64 GB RAM with https://ark.intel.com/products/86195/Intel-SSD-DC-S3510-Series-240GB-2_5in-SATA-6Gbs-16nm-MLC

I see very poor connectivity from Vultr Ney Jersey to Hetzner.

Could you please check on your server

    wget --output-document=/dev/null https://speed.hetzner.de/1GB.bin

Deployed one and got and 1270v6 with Device Model: INTEL SSDSC2BB240G7

Read speed seems lower than the S3510 which is older. Go figure.

Endurance is rated 599 TBW vs 140 TBW thought.

Not sure if it's worth it at $120/mo and it seems you can't add additional IPs...

Waste of money. Only if you need a powerful cpu for a couple of days. Better to order from ovh us.

No I'm waiting for availability to launch my second server.

They allow only one server with free credit. When did you register? Is this promo still alive?

Btw they detect duplicate accounts and remove free credit. So if you purged one account, clean your cookies, change browser and IP.

Got it around a 4-5 days ago. Idk the exact promo but I do have some credit left other. Vultr dashboard says there are no bare metal server slots available right now.

The quota is available now, but it does not allow to create another one.

  • might be region availability as i launched 3x baremetal on Vultr NJ without problem

  • So stupid how you cant use a snapshot or custom ISO for them though

Well I got vultr to raise my limit a few days ago. I'm just waiting for Amsterdam availability.

They said these features are coming but as bare metal instances are relatively new they don't support it just yet.
