Yeah and nice of them to create a backport of the bootstrap 2 styling.

  • @corvid there is no answer how much time. it is case to case per person and depends what look you want to achieve. it could be minutes, hours, or days. Maybe weeks if you really are a very neophyte.

@jcaleb, takes me the neophyte 5 minutes to edit starter template html this to produce the view below:

@ATHK, I used note++ to edit html file. But when I looked at editing this carousel example template, the html had the CSS and JS all buried inside the .html file. I expected to have a cleaner .html file with links to detailed .css and .js files. Is that what you would expect to have? If so, where do you get the separate files from?

As for hosting these online, can you recommend some place where a neophyte (myself) can at least host some of these front end bootstrap themes without having to master deployment of nginx or lighttpd on VPS, securing VPS, DNS, SSL, and the rest of the alphabet soup of acronyms.

You could just get a free shared hosting account

That Carousel page is an example therefore, for them to keep it easy they incorporated everything into the one page.

People often do this, I for one hate it it's untidy and unprofessional (unless it's an example).

For you being a new started perhaps something like this - http://www.layoutit.com/

Or the many other's out there may help you.

cute. I guess I need to be more descriptive.
    a) I am interested in choosing what the smart experienced folks here at lowendtalk.com and lowendbox.com are using because brace yourself despite what Google says Google search does not translate into collective wisdom.

so while http://bit.ly/sMZFqd produces the following list:

Biz.nf (PHP, MySQL, WordPress, Joomla, Free .co.nf domain, No ads)
Free Hosting EU (Blog / Site builder, No ads, Free .eu.pn domain)
Wix.com (Easy Website builder: html5, Flash, mobile, blogs, etc.)
AwardSpace.net (PHP, MySQL, Email Sending, No Ads, Free subdomain)
Biz.ly (Website & Blog builder, Photo album, Free .biz.ly domain)
FreeHostia.com (PHP, MySQL, 1-click Scripts, No Ads, Free subdomain)
ByetHost.com (PHP, MySQL, PHPbb, SMF, Wiki, Free subdomain)
x10Hosting.com (Support cPanel, PHP, FTP, No ads, Free subdomain)
Yola.com (Visual website builder, add videos, photos, shopping cart)
Webs.com (Easy site builder, blog, forms, polls, Free subdomain)

which of these on the list or some other list altogether would the experienced folks on lowendtalk.com recommend.

    b) If I can support a member of lowendtalk in the process, I am happier to do that.

Thanks everybody for tolerating me neophyte.

maybe this thread can turn into how a neophyte deploys a bootstrap site in 10 minutes wiki or guide. Thanks of course to you all.

    @corvid

A lot LET users won't recommend a free host because most of the people here are providers so they would most likely try and get you to purchase a VPS.

Another thing to note is this is LET where people sell and buy VPS's they wouldn't (I assume) use a free host, most LET users have at least one VPS sitting idle or with the space needed for a website, I doubt they would sign up to a free host giving out their information when they can just install the proper tools needed to host a website.

So my recommendation would be .. any they are free, and it also depends on the needs of your site, do you need a database? do you need PHP or ASP? do you want Ads or not? do you need to Send Email?

While I don't mind helping you, it feels like you have done next to no research and expect us to do recommend everything for you.

I should not have to build up and manage a VPS to deploy a simple bootstrap site.

database yes. PHP yes. ASP not necessary. integrate later with google apps for email, calendar, docs, etc. integrate twitter feed for live tweets.

While I don't mind helping you, it feels like you have done next to no research and expect us to do recommend everything for you.

This last comment invites more theology like:

    Is editing markup programming?

Is asking you and LET members questions valid research?

Is googling keywords equate to gaining knowledge ? (please see my last comment)

Does one become a mechanic by googling how to become a mechanic or by observing a mentor

All valid debate indeed. Yet I would rather focus on how a neophyte deploys a bootstrap site in 10 minutes instead.

Thanks for the link - http://www.layoutit.com/ this looks like a quick way to edit a template. Now after neophyte uses layoutit , where does @ATHK or LET folks deploy sites quickly?

I never said you should, I said others will try to get you to purchase one, read it again..

Not really this is LET, spawned from http://lowendbox.com/ "Hosting Websites on Bare Minimum VPS/Dedicated Servers"

Deploy it here - Biz.nf (PHP, MySQL, WordPress, Joomla, Free .co.nf domain, No ads)
