Cheap storage for backup

Hello
I want to buy cheap VPS with big Hard drive, I mean about 250 - 500 GB. It will be used as a backup via rsync protocol so that is why I need VPS. I found https://buyvm.net/storage-vps/and https://hosthatch.com/storage-vps, can anyone tell something about these companies or recommend other one?

I will check it, thank you but I prefer to have that server somewhere in europe, due to connectivity to my source server.

    time4vps may be the cheapest.

  • @Francisco is meant to be launching some cheap storage 'soon'. So if you're gonna order from BuyVM I would hold off until the new product line is introduced.

  • both company have good reputation at LET.

personally i use spartanhost (bf offer) and speedykvm.

for speedykvm, if you pay yearly you'll get 30off recurring.

Current storage customers are actually going to have a better deal than any slice customer when all is said and done. We'll be putting together some high clock E5's for them and they'll keep their core count but have the RAM of a similar priced slice and the storage too.

Overall, it's a good one off upgrade in my eyes!

You can't get the KS1 anyways unless you're blessed by a miracle of God the moment you check the site or you run a crawler to inform you of the KS1 availability in which case you have like <2min to make the purchase.

That being said, if anyone wants to rid themselves of their KS1 I'll take it.

The past few weeks the KS-1 has been available for more than 5 minutes for numerous times.

But then again most of the time they're in the night.

if you need additional storage, you can sync your backup files using rclone to "10TB cloud storage" at hubiC, with price ~$5/mo

Does anybody know a solution that can backup (recursive) 3 web sites (files & database) hosted in different locations on shared webhosting without cpanel to another location (vps)

    what are your test results?
if its bad, then you can ask him why its low!

since its storage it has been working fine for me.

  • It's been sluggish (r/w ~ 1 MB/s) for a few days and maybe not for all storage customers, but things are getting a bit better now (r/w in the 10 MB/s range). @AshleyUK must have been workin' on it.

Besides that - and given the limited BW and CPU anyway - it's definitely worth it as a backup/cold-storage server, much easier to use than Amazon/C14/Hubic/whatever homemade solutions.

  • Thanks for all replies as of now bought 2 VPS, one is 1 TB storage from time4vps, and it works fine for my needs and the second one is from ZXHost, also 1 TB from LET Special offer for £38.77GBP per year, however I ordered it yesterday at 10:21 am and it is not yet delivered. How long it usually take to deliver one? In the TOS it is stated 24h but, 24h passed couple hours ago. I already opened a support ticket but no response so far.

  • Given the "special" offer and the ongoing hardware upgrade, the "man-behind-the-machine" must be quite busy at the moment. Deliveries are a matter of days. Keep cool ^^

  • OK no problem, I just kindly ask without any worries or aggression, for such amazing price a little wait is fully understandable ;)

@AshleyUK make sure you treat @marson for the delay
