So, from what i see here, someone being raided=guilty.

TBH, I would feel proud to be raided, it means the government is worried enough by my activism so they try to scare me off or use me as an example. Unfortunately I do not have enough time for that now...

Being the target of one's government, being used intimidation tactics against, being put to jail, tortured for freedom of thought and free speech, whistle blowing against those that break the constitution, this is something worth living, even dying, for.

One day when you will need to learn some free news, about your friends/relatives across the divide, outside of the enclave, whatever, where will you go ? When you need to access news, send uncensored emails, avoid country firewalls, access free news organizations to send your material in, who's tools would you use ?

The gun friends in US believe those will defend them, but today the word is more powerful than any gun, and it was so all the time, be it propaganda word, that tries to bring up false hate targets to shield the ones responsible for the disaster, or the free speech, which tries to bring ideas and the truth out, so we can start rebuilding what propaganda has destroyed.

Wars are not fought with weapons, the vietnam war was lost in the news, even tho US had a formidable war machine, they learned from that and now news is strictly controlled, when people will start watching channels from abroad, they will simply block them, like China. The words are dangerous, pictures even more so, movies proving the words and images true are the bomb. A few bombs exploded but people still believe those were isolated cases, a few rogue elements in the army, GI Joe did it, of course. not the hate propaganda, the lies told in the press that teach people to hate a people, a religion, a region, even, showing how poor, how desperate are they, fighting the war of others, making weapon makers and traders rich, and guess who are those...

@Maounique raid can get into trouble plenty other people involved with you even when there's not case against you and they return your gear with kind apology. In my middle-IRC-era ( 2000 - 2005) I saw plenty people busted because confiscated gear of someone other with compromising logs.
I am not saying that this is the case here and J. was most likely aware that this can happen but when you deal with certatin grey areas and meet all kind of people here isn't just about you but also other people you can get into trouble.

    Yep, 2 mentions.

A number of different hackers have targeted LulzSec and its members in response to their activities. On 23 June 2011, Fox News reported that rival hacker group TeaMp0isoN were responsible for outing web designer and alleged LulzSec member Sven S***, who they said used the online nickname Joepie91

joepie91 – The handle used by Sven S*** of the Netherlands, a leading activist within Anonymous and owner of AnonNews.org.[40] joepie91 is charted as the most active member of the LulzSec IRC channel, and core members of LulzSec interacted with him more often than with each other, but he is not known to have directly participated in any of LulzSec's hacking operations

But still, it's hard to get your name on Wikipedia. It's like you are rubbing elbows with Tom Cruise or something =)

Not having a "normal" job, does not make you an "abnormal" person.
Working in security also requires having to know people from many areas, including underground hackers. FBI hires them, that makes FBI illegal, maybe ?

  • Forrest Gump had a great line for this situation.

  • Bump

  • I think the community should know who they could be potentially dealing with.

  • @doughmanes So the community is incapable of typing his name into a search box at google or LET or the other boards?
