  • Are you able to use a VPN?

OpenVPN, PPTP, and L2TP/IPsec protocols are banned. I do not know about other protocols. I need SSH access.

  • You could try logging into your VPS over the console in your panel, then setting SSH to port 80?

Unfortunately, it's banned. Is there any other solution?

  • AnyConnect / OpenConnect is designed to work almost anywhere.

  • Shadowsocks maybe?

There is no SSH access. There is no VPN service that provides this protocol.

I need SSH access first to install Shadowsocks.

  • Also try TOR, it's pretty hard to block from what I've heard.

I cannot afford to pay that much. There must be another way...

I already want to set up my own VPN. SSH access is required for this. It does not make sense to get service from a VPN provider. There must be another way...

In the ubuntu, try to install Tor and torsocks via aptitude.

    apt-get install tor torsocks

Tor may start automatically and bootstrap, you can verify this with:

    service tor status

If that worked, simply torify ssh in this fashion:

    torsocks ssh user@hostname

Make sure that the fingerprint is correct.

If Tor is not running, start it with:

    service tor start

  • Yup SoftEther is pretty good at blasting through restrictive firewalls

    Is rdp banned?

You can setup putty as a remote app so you are not running it from the university, you also have not said why you cant run your sshd on port 443?

Most providers give you a web based serial console connection you can use to initially configure things which is just standard web traffic.

  • @UrDN TOR banned in my country. How is it going to be?

  • Does it support OpenVPN? @JahAGR @netomx

  • @AnthonySmith It's not banned. But it is costly.

Yes, but it is better to use the SoftEther client if you can.

  • Why not web console?

Open on it then set you SSH port to something like 34562

I can hand over a bridge to you.

May we know what country it is about?

  • War-walk until you find open network. ssh to your box and set it up.
