hi I'm looking for a vps at LEB pricing and is located in Europe that allows downloading torrents. I won't be seeding but just downloading. Anyone know any hosts?

    Check hack forums

    Torrent != hack.

Torrent and warez are legal in some EU countries, like Spain, Slovakia or Portugal, hosts there should allow them.

Conveniently named "LOST Seasons 1, 2 and 3.torrent"!

  • Well, if they were named Ubuntu-13.04-server-x64.iso then people would suspect him of Torrenting legal stuff!

    Can't have that!

@24khost Actually downloading for own use should be legal in some Europe countries, like Austria. Hint, hint.

In The Netherlands downloading is legal (doesn't matter what you are downloaden, only exception is child porn) however uploading is illegal. The reason torrents are illegal? Its because you are also uploading.

It should be noted that torrenting != downloading.

Since you are always also uploading when torrenting you are distributing copyrighted material. Even when downloading is illegal, uploading is often not.

  • rds100rds100 Member

@gsrdgrdghd true, but you should be able to stop the uploading, and only do downloading.

  • @rds100 which would be called Leaching. Not cool dude.

Dont know if anyone realizes , but packet communication goes both ways.

Even if you are just downloading you are uploading also simultaneously.

The ones who wrote the policy is an idiot.

  • If your intention is downloading copyrighted materials use a VPN provider which have P2P/Torrrent enabled locations.

You're obviously going to tout the services you supply, but it's not just about anonymity. Most people have godawful home connections, so running rtorrent somewhere with a fast connection is much nicer than slowing down an already crappy connection with torrent traffic.

  • go get a cheap VPS, and send me the SSH I'll set everything for you for free

Downloading copyrighted material is illegal on lots of countries. However there are some countries that ignore DMCA.In this regard a US or EU citizen have to find a offshore location for downloading illegal torrents if their law and ISPs prohibit them. Its up to people to purchase a offshore VPN service or setup his own himself.

  • Ignore @Gary before he accuses you of being a fanboy with little or no proof.

I think it's "bring your retard to LET" day today

ovh.co.uk has good dedis, takes it a step better, I believe there cheapest is 8 euro's or w/e the currency is (from USA so...) especially if you go with one of these https://www.ovh.co.uk/dedicated_servers/kimsufi.xml
I beleve I had the Ks-2G or Ks-R4G at one point then moved to a KS R-8G in Canada hosted with OVH.
    Hope this helps!
