whoa there, this is still Turkey and not Raqqa... but yea, generally spot on.

Nobody cares about Turkish laws in EU, and no one really ever did considering the censorship is hardly new and Hetzner/Keyweb/Velia/etc are popular af for gaming and VPN...

Paying your hosting provider - which likely has same data for billing/merchant as in IPs/Website - with a Turkish bank CC is also.... pointless... just grep the national transactions for anything in the direction and gone... (and unlike eg. text messages bank transactions are stored in nearly any country for a long time, money laundry and so on).

They all for sure try but geopolitical influence != tech influence; which is why weird countries as Israel (providing high end tech and having no qualms to spy the region by security needs) and eg. Mauritius/the Seychelles (both major cable transit points but generally poor) are surprisingly high up the ability ladder unlike on traditional spy issues (where money and influence in the limiting factor and rarely location).

  • @William You mean the best way to pay for us is Bitcoin? Did I get right? As a secondary responsibility, would you recommend Dutch location services?
