  • How many IP did you receive in each plan?
I need 2 IP, at least.

Then you should either not be looking at LEBs or be prepared to pay nearly double to get that 2nd IP.

The world is running out of IP addresses. It's going to be years before it's viable to have an IPv6-only web or mail server. IP addresses are expensive and going to get even more expensive over time.

  • @lbft said: Then you should either not be looking at LEBs or be prepared to pay nearly double to get that 2nd IP.

Not really, IIRC Virpus and Newwebsite do provide two IPs on their $5-ish Plan.

  • @DragonDF said: In lowendbox you can see fast256Mb = 256Mb RAM.

it's 256Mb guaranteed ram and 512Mb burst so your VPS will show 512Mb of ram, and extra IP cost $2 each (could have sworn when I first signed up it was only $1 per IP).. at that rate it's probably better to get Virpus for $4/month cause as WhizzWr mentions it comes with two IP's and they have been around for quite a while..

  • My VPS just got setup again. It’s in Miami now.

It has become worse after the move. I’m opening a ticket. CPU has gotten better though.

In what way? Bear in mind they're probably still moving other people.

what does a bear have to do with this?

    /trololololol

  • Anything which is related to burstnet or mentions something about 'a cloud' or that is located in hampshire I don't touch.

  • @jtodd said: In what way? Bear in mind they're probably still moving other people.

I/O is bad. I've opened a ticket about that.

  • My VPS was setup late last night, 6 hours plus after payment. I am on Node: Miami, which is in Miami, FL. This is my first Florida VPS and I am very happy they went with Florida as I live in Florida also! xD

    and post the results?

  • wow, that's slow

But yeah, you can expect that for a $1.50 or 2.50 VPS

  • @joodle exactly, I only paid $1.50 so I am not expecting much at all. Worth the money? Yes. You get what you pay for

  • I also got the $1.50 one

    But still hasn't been moved
    Still on the Alpha node

  • @joodle said: wow, that's slow

Back on hostrail I was getting dd results in the KB/sec ;)

  • @yomero said: Some theory says that this guy may be the same of UptimeVPS :P

    Run!

  • Haha, if it is UptimeVPS, I don't really care about putting $1.50 down the drain. I will only be using this VPS for testing purposes, I do not rely on it strongly like others.

  • My VPS is very unstable now, SSH keeps lagging, really slow disk i/o

I moved away from them, i don't care about the $1.50 let them keep that
I now got a small VPS at misterhost.de

  • @joodle I was looking at misterhost.de too yesterday. However, at the point I wanted to order, the website went down for over 30 minutes. Not a good sign is it ;)

  • They were doing maintenance on the webserver lol

  • Do they have a status page then? Couldn't find it

  • I wanted to go to the WHMCS Page, but it was offline
When the website was back online i asked via live support why it was down and they said maintenance

  • Dear Customer,

We found a urgent issue that require that we put the miami node server down soon for a Hard Disk Replacement.

The current disk run with errors and can crash or fail anytime and you will lose all your data...

The new Hard Disk will be connected to RAID 1.

    Sincerely,

  • So hang on, that's their only disk? Is that one fails all data is gone?

@Freek they only have 1 node and I suppose only 1 HDD. I am not sure if they will take backups, I don't really care if they do or not because I am not using the VPS for anything important.

Quote from Them: "The current disk run with errors" This makes no sense to us, please explain.

  • FranciscoFrancisco Top Host, Host Rep, Veteran

    It likely has bad sectors.

If the disk performance is as poor as it is, i'm not sure where they'll have the throughput to pull nighties.

  • It's not like harddrives are very expensive nowadays...
