Free VPS :O

Yesterday, I've found the link offer free vps on WHT, he was posting on not related thread ;) Just sign up for fun but I've just received the VPS details :D

It's XEN VPS, It got 512MB RAM and 1GB Swap. Server is located at OVH, France and the last login IP of my VPS (the owner IP?) was from Nigeria @_@

Since it's morning here and the ping to OVH is not really good (about 500ms) so If someone would like to play around with the VPS, just PM me :P

PS: Their WHMCS order page is licensed and the VPS is free so I would hope they are real ;)

    It seems some Nigerian logon the the VPS before me? I don't know how 'Last login' in SSh work but it seems so :D

    Here is the VPS spec from their website:
    1 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2300 CPU @ 2.80GHz
    RAM:512 MB
    Hard Disk:50GB
    Bandwith:illimited
    OS: centos,fedora
    connexion speed: (100Mbps)
    Price: FREE
    (I copied from there, untouch :P)

    Here is what I got:
    1 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.1GHz
    RAM:512 MB
    Hard Disk:50GB
    Bandwith:20TB
    OS: centos,fedora
    connexion speed: (1000Mbps)
    Price: FREE

    A paradise for abuser? :O

    That's definitely not a 100Mbps "connexion". Drive is like you stole it before your login stops working. ;)

    Sometimes you can get free VPS for "forever".
    I can still use my 2GB XEN right now. The trial period should have ended months ago :P

    Free isnt a very sustainable business model. Make sure you don’t keep any important data on there

    I ordered just for fun :P But I couldn't do anything with the VPS. It hanged everytime I typed a command and pressed Enter :|

    I still have a 4gb ram windows hyperv vps which i stopped paying for last february. I actually emailed and opened tickets numerous times but never got an answer saying i wasnt paying for it.

    Nothing more I can do.. by the way I don't use it.

    I was paying $50+ per month and feb-jan 12 is say 10 months so they've lost $500-600..

    For me it seems to want a payment gateway, and it doesn't accept Paypal.

    On WHT, the quantity seemed to be limited.

    At least they own an ASN No. so it won't hurt to try out. BTW, I've found that they have one of the most speedy UK connection from my location. Usually UK servers are slow like hell to me.

    We've now removed the link to order for the VPS as we've just given away 35! a little bit over 10 .
