I am not sure what has the concept to do with this specific case. So I use fake data to defend from unscrupulous providers that think that, since I should have nothing to hide, will automatically agree to post my data in public.
I am not attacking this case, but the practice and the "motivation" behind it.
M
Agreed. The client in this case was clearly a douchebag, but that doesn't excuse anything. You'll never get the fanboys in this thread to understand that though.
You never lived in ex-USSR countries, have you?
@breton no why?
So some rand kid signs up on a 1.79$ vps to test out "ddos" stuff. Then that users comes to LET, crys about being suspended for illegal activity. And he even admits it in the screenshot, and you guys take this way to seriously, lol enjoy the thread and stop bashing others/damian/etc.
Maybe if the kid didn't want his personal information to be given away, he shouldn't of started talking crap about ipxcore or using illegal tools on the server? Herp a derp. Seems legit.
if i were ipxcore staff i will wear and plug some strapon with nice black dildo to fu*ck those bunch of spammers who want to use vps to send sync/udp flood.
here is a nice one:

i have active vps plan with ipxcore and i'm sick and tired of downtime/packet lost caused by these type of scriptkiddies . NO they are not customers, they are lamer and leecher and they are sucks .
@soda +1
This is why I love LET
LMFAO @ SODA
Same here.
The user didn't come to LET, that was the suspension email I sent, plus his response.
You mean negative actions have repercussions? Shocking!
i think 1.79$ plan must be available for signup at least for quarterly payment duration not monthly payment ...
those spammer after termination of their service will lose 5.3$ not 1.79$ ....;)
@soda I agree @Damian that is one of the many reasons a lot of providers have chose to not go that route. ($1.79/mo)
For small plan like that should approve manually maybe. I prefer low price pay by monthly btw.
ride the Ponyyy
@Damian
Gangnam style, me like
OPPA GANGNAM STYLE!
Cool, now we have porn too. It is so sad that privacy is suffering. More and more ppl will sing up annonymously. Then we will ask ourselves why and what ppl have to hide, then make laws to force providers to collect fingerprints and ppl will find a way to fake those too...

Hakuna matata!
We started with grapes and ended up with pineapple. Yay.
Who ordered pizza tonight?
Afaik, US doesn't have any privacy laws as most European countries do, so legally they can do whatever they want with your personal info.
That being said, I don't like the facts client's info becomes public if supreme court of IPXcore decides someone violated their terms enough. Just doesn't feel right. Yes, it was most probably fake, but still, I don't like when a provider is willing to publish someone's personal info, if they do it 100 times there is a good chance they'll make a mistake.
Having privacy policy doesn't make much difference imho, those are usually written badly and are full of loopholes, it's all about the trust.
I really don't understand this mentality.
Your water and electricity company know your identity. Your bank, GP/Doctor, local council/state, Amazon and other online shopping stores do too. And any of those providers can leak your personal data and identity, in fact it happens yearly.
So what makes a hosting company any different?
To be honest, this thread is full of users spouting "what if's" who show little grasp of privacy laws.
While that is bad enough, none of these companies make the information available to the general public.
I have a feeling that most of the users in this thread (myself included) that find @Damian's action wrong are from the EU and therefor used to proper privacy laws.
The "not taking it serious" is the main problem for many people in here. Nobody gives a crap about fake Mr. Souza.
True, i don't give a crap about him. What i do care about is @Damian setting an example for his company by saying that he can do whatever we wants with any private data (including publishing it) that users submit to him in confidence.
Who ever said it was in confidence? The stated privacy policy is there is no privacy policy.
