Lua is a bad choice for high-load scenarios like DDoS protection. I have personally faced a few segfaults within libluajit-5.1 under heavy attacks when using openresty.

Find a Hong Kong VPS or dedicated server that supports announcing ASNs and 0/24 subnets. BGP session enabled, China direction optimized! And provides basic protection against DDoS.
