With both MXRoute and CraneMail, how easy/difficult is it, assuming you have multiple mailboxes and multiple domains, to later export all your mailboxes to another provider?

This has improved for MXRoute (domain verification and configuration is now possible from directadmin). Also their documentation is very good:
