Debian Repo Redirect

First off I am not thinking of moving or closing any of my mirrors.

Is it possible to redirect a repo via something like a temp-move / perm-move in http?

location /oldrepo {
rewrite ^/(.*) http://cdn.content-network.net/mirror/newmirror/$1 permanent;

Can't see why not. Though you'll need to make your location an RE.

Maybe something like:

location ^~ /oldrepo {
        rewrite ^/oldrepo/?(.*) http://cdn.content-network.net/mirror/newmirror/$1 permanent;
}

His RE term means regular expression.

EDIT: Gah... Google's datestamp on the article is wrong... it seems to be fixed.

Sorry. RE = Regular Expression.

location /oldrepo will match only that exact location:

http://example.com/oldrepo

location ^~ /oldrepo will match anything starting with "/oldrepo", e.g.

http://example.com/oldrepo
http://example.com/oldrepo/dir/subdir/
http://example.com/oldrepo/dir/file.tar.gz
etc.
