    No, you're misunderstanding. This isn't about the Linux kernel version. Online.net builds their own kernels for the ARM platform and the earlier iterations had a lot of issues with stability and disk/network performance. Online.net have said this themselves.

    There have been maybe 20 or more kernel releases and only the very recent ones seem to work well. The kernel version has a HUGE affect on performance.

    It's ARM you can't install Windows (maybe win rt).
