Sysadmin for server installation - KVM Virtualization

Hi

I just hired a server at OVH server, the idea is to virtualize the server to give multiple uses. (Backups, remote desktop windows, cpanel dns only)

Try the installation myself, but I can not properly configure additional IP addresses

Server Features

CPU: Intel Xeon E5-1620
RAM: 32 GB 1333MHz DDR3 ECC
Disks: 3x 3TB SATA3

Work to be done:

  • Install Control Panel Virtualizator (KVM Virtualization)
  • Ideally use 2 drives in raid1, and the third disc set to use as storage backups of vps.
  • Network Configuration, adding failover IP addresses that I have contracted.

I would like to do this as soon as possible.
Ideally I would like sysadmin who speaks Spanish so that communication is more fluid.

Indicate fixed fee per the job. (No charges per hour)

Stay tuned to your contacts

there's free ftp backup up to 500GB with your service (unless you have other plans)

Not sure if fluent in Spanish, but maybe try giving @jhadley a shout.

  • Purpose for 'remote desktop windows'?.

I have a windows server license, basically I connect via remote desktop to move files via visual interface. Maybe could do so from a vm with Ubuntu desktop

    will send an email

if it is, it's just that if I use raid1 idk if that third album will be useful

Highly recommend to use different server for backup and use at least RAID-5.

Do you need SolusVM or alternative control panel?

    RAID1 is more reliable/better than RAID5.

It took me a couple of hrs to fully understand how to allocate OVH's IP's - I'm using ESXi for my visualization currently.
    1. You have to order the IP's first, they dont pre-allocate them.
    2. Then, setup a vrack and add the IP's and server to it.
    3. When setting up a VM, you will have to configure the IP manually.
    4. The gateway is provided in the allocation email.

    EG,

    xxx.xxx.xxx.16/28 Network IP :xxx.xxx.xxx.16 Broadcast IP :xxx.xxx.xxx.31 Gateway IP :xxx.xxx.xxx.30 Netmask :255.255.255.240
