boxio.org - A central location for vps benchmarks
I spent most of yesterday teaching a friend of mine some basic php. I needed a project idea to work on so he could get a better idea of how things work, so I created a simple database site for vps benchmarks. There might be something like this out there, I have no idea... but if not, I figured this will be at least a little bit useful for people around here. I wasn't going to do anything with it, but Namecheap had that $0.98 domain sale and boxio.org "box I/O" was open, so I figured why the hell not?

I needed something like this. Most of the time I was just using pastebin
Can you share the source code? I am trying to code something for myself and as I usually prefer .NET programming, my PHP is on really low level and I could use some examples.
Yeah, I've just been using the search here, which is a pain in the ass to filter through.
After looking at it some more I think that during submission you should just have them paste in their direct results (without
<
pre> tags) into the text boxes (therefore having two text boxes. One for dd and the other for ioping). Then have another box on the bottom for additional comments. This will help make sure that all the entries remain somewhat consistent.
Sure, I'll upload it somewhere later. I'll need to edit some things out.
Thank you
I might do something like that if people actually use it. But there are so many different benchmarks that could be ran, that it would just be a pain in the ass.
Then allow multiple entries generation with another text box (single line) for the name of the test. :P
Then when displaying it just use a loop function to show it.
But yeah that's just me trying to take it one step further for consistency (I really like consistency in case you haven't noticed). I really like it!

There's some wtf stuff going on in there, because this was basically a teaching tool.
boxio.org really slow
Your problems start way before you hit my server. From my home:
@subigo: who is it with?
What theme is that site?
Datashack.
No theme, just some basic css I did.
I've noticed you've similar CSS on your other sites, it looks nice and minimal.
Yeah, most of it was just copied over and changed a bit.
@subigo, if you want to teach the guy some regexps make sure to extract some standard test results (wget speed, dd, ioping etc) from the submission and display it in a summary box.
This is really nice @subigo, thanks!
