  • kimsufi are an ovh brand, but with kimsufi these are the downgrades:

    no raid support.
    32 ips max per server.
    longer wait on support tickets.
i also dont believe you get any phone support either, same network, but i think its a different part of the building.

  • What support would you require @private_html their control panel allows you to do pretty much everything except kicking the server in the teeth. You can re-install using kickstarters, launch OVH Recovery with a web interface; uhm, it's pretty much endless.

Kimsufi are okay, if you know what you are 100% doing and you need no support, they will never ever reply to support tickets, even if they do it will be about a month waiting time :P

  • The glory of Kimsufi is: Nearly instant setup, cheap as hell prices, control panel to reinstall OS.

What Sucks: Lack of support, network

I cannot confirm what you are saying about support and network. Every issue I had with them (german branch) was handled <12h on business days. Resolution time, not first reaction. Their network only sucks in countries that they do not peer with or only at a low level. They are frank and open about this. Take a look at their network map to see whether your targeted countries are well covered and you are fine. They are not "premium" of course, but they also do not charge you "premium"!

The code is for a special from http://www.isgenug.de/hot_deals/index.xml
Specs are on that page and it says 4GB of RAM.
Pretty clever, taking a code for the offer and then inserting it into another branch's ordering URL. Not sure if this will really work and if you will get a server delivered.
For worldwide you can try https://www.ovh.com/fr/commande/kimsufi.cgi?hard=922sk1
The price is 23 EUR/mo without VAT.
If you decide to order, promise to post here how it goes :)

  • @rm_: doesn't work for international even with that link.

I thought it was this one: http://www.kimsufi.co.uk/special_edition/index.xml

Anyways I do hope its a quad core.

It works. I tried it earlier and got my quad core with 4GB RAM. I can provide proof if needed.

How long ago? I ordered by changing that extension to .ie and I paid for one but I haven't received anything yet.

  • SteveSteve Member

Recieved Order ID via e-mail at 17:07 (after payment) and recieved "Installation of your dedicated server" e-mail at 17:27.

  • Dang, its been a few hours for me so far after payment. I got the payment e-mail 2 hours after I purchased it.

How much is the reinstall OS fee? Do they have control panel like kimsufi?

Does it has 10TB bandwidth limit?

  • ReeRee Member

Loaded the first item on the .ie special page, replaced the code with 922sk1 in the address bar, ordered, paid (23 euro), and received the server about 10 minutes later.

CPU and RAM are as advertised (Q6600 w/ 4GB)
HD is ST31000528AS with 370 days of power on time with 45 power cycles.
    [root@ks###### ~]# dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync; rm test
    16384+0 records in
    16384+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 9.9315 s, 108 MB/s

    Thanks @steve and @rm_

  • I paid the 23 euros but I never got the server

which ovh site do you order from? Main site?

  • .ie

  • ztecztec Member

and log in only as soon as it asks you to, not before.

    same result. :(
I don't get why they would do this.

  • ztecztec Member

I ordered and changed the url to end with kimsufi.cgi?hard=922sk1 - hope I get the quad core. :)

  • ztecztec Member

Didnt get any email so far, I did pay though. Oops...

  • ztecztec Member

Nice it worked, quad core and everything for 28 euro. :) THanks

It isn't exactly limited to 10TB. You have 10TB outbound transfer on 100Mbps. Once you exceed this, you get limited to 10Mbps unmetered for the rest of the month. Inbound is unmetered 100Mbps.
