How to protect folder (but make files availeble)

Hello.

Let's say I want to block access to my main folder xxx.xxx.xxx/data/ but make the files accessbile to xxx.xxx.xxx/data/file1. I tried to make a password using webmin and it worked but /data/file1 required a user/pass too, but I don't want it to be that complicated.

The main idea is I don't want people to see what do I have in xxx.xxx.xxx/data once they go to this link in their browser. But I want them to be able to download /data/file1 if I send them the links.

How to achieve that?

Thanks a lot!
