what does provider use to make "ssd-cached-HDD" vps? Intel RST or bcache or what?

Does Intel RST or bcache make much improvement on VPS IO (virtualization) area?

Writeback/through cache can make a significant difference. I've not tried it myself though. I'd guess providers use something like EnhanceIO, bcache or cachecade.

  • flashcache. And yes, it makes a difference. But eventually we decided to go full SSD for our VPS nodes, was a very good decision.
