check your dns resolver first? (in interfaces file not in /etc/resolv.conf)
It's because Lenny is EOL and is no longer in the mirrors. Either use archive.debian.org, or better - dist-upgrade to squeeze.
And yes, you have debian 5 there, not debian 6.
lol!! nice catch!! i even didn't noticed it.. hahaha
You're still running Debian 5 (lenny), which is no longer supported (and I think is being removed from the mirrors).
To upgrade to Debian 6 (squeeze), edit your /etc/apt/sources.list file to something like this:
Then run
apt-get update
andapt-get dist-upgrade
.I tried what @lbft said, and still get a similar error..
Go to your
sources.list
and replacelenny
withstable
.Also if on XEN PV run apt-get remove grub-legacy grub-common before upgrading or your system may not boot back up.
@AnthonySmith please, dont rub it in
Does the same apply to KVM ?
no, kvm and xen-hvm are more similar to a physical computer...
Edit: referred to the boot/install process :-)
Or Upgrade to wheezy
