You're probably better off going for a cheap dedi. 8GB KVM is going to be pricey unless you're flexible on location - and even then, I don't know anyone offering 8GB "cheap" and "non-oversold". $10/GB/mo is pretty standard, with the odd lower end plans on special.
High end != cheap, unfortunately.
If you're fine with HVM, ask @drServer
Kimsufi with DDOS protection will be really good option.
Or @MarkTurner's Dual X5150 - may be best.
$50 isn't very high end either for that spec / features

8gb kvm is not cheap, lower your expectations or increase your budget.
