LEB gallery script

jaakkajaakka Member
edited June 2012 in General

Hi!
I was wondering what people use for a simple gallery script? I have a Host1Free 128M VPS, but if i try to use simple php gallery like miniGal, then im out of resources.

As im a swagman, thus cannot afford a decent midsized VPS.

Any ideas?

Why not get some shared hosting from somewhere like frihost.com and install that?

    Latency and resources for one.

I took a look and read the following:

    1500 MB of disk space
    35 GB of traffic

If i host hundred of pictures, will probably exceed the quota.

128M should run a simple php gallery just fine with the right tweaking, it may be Host1Free's issue (they seem to have crappy performance), or your configuration or a combination of both.

    What configuration are you using?

@jaakka when I used frihost back in the day I had no latency issues and I never pushed quota. Why not host the 'gallery' there, but your images on the vps?

    configuration issue for sure.
I run Nginx, PHP, Mysql and Xen Gallery on a Securedragon 128meg (used to be 96 and it was just fine as well but I added a few sites so upgraded a tad)

"album". It's a perl script you run and it generates a static html gallery.
No php or cgi, you just run the script once after you add pictures.

http://www.phpalbum.net/ is a flatfile PHP album script that works very well on low specs.

I use http://sye.dk/sfpg/ for my personal site. Very awesome little script. :)

    Host1free forbids that

    +1 for this

@djvdorp maybe the other way around then? :)

Thanks for your input. I think it is a configuration issue however i couldnt find any settings that could cause this. Probably thumbnail settings that were loading up. I was using http://sye.dk/sfpg/, but ill look into Tinywebgallery

  • Try tuxlite.com script for easy tweaked setup
