How to accurately determine residential GeoIP?
What is the most accurate way?

http://www.geoiptool.com puts me in Kansas
http://www.geobytes.com puts me in New York City, NY
http://www.maxmind.com puts me in Hebron, CT
I realize being a DHCP assigned IP from my ISP makes absolute accuracy impossible, but why the widely varying results?

Maxmind is the most widely used by far.
Only puts me in my city.
Besides using the browser GeoIP functions, there is no way to accurately detect it.
http://www.ip2location.com puts you in Livingston, NJ (with Verizon)
All the tools will vary. You'll never find one that's 100% accurate for every user, except Google or Apple (GPS tracking + user account tracking) :P

It's widely varying because that range appears to be that of a wireless carrier. Where are you, by the way? Traceroutes put you somewhere nearish Boston.
Upstate NY. You are correct, that is my wireless IP. GeoIP of my home connection is also widely varied, Binghamton, NY all the way to Virginia
