Suggetion for implementing ssl for wordpress blog

Hello Friends,

It seems an interesting forum and this is my first input as a newbie. I have a wordpress blog on which I regularly update the content. Recently, I got news that from now, Google will consider HTTPS signal for ranking and induce content websites to redirect to HTTPS. I think the move that Google takes for a content-based website is acceptable.

http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.in/2014/08/https-as-ranking-signal.html

In this context, I came through a press release about offering a 1 yr free comodo positive ssl with secured site seal for content based websites, blogs, and forums.

Kindly share your experience with ssl2buy.com, if anyone has taken a benefit of this offer.

I have no experience with ssl2buy.com, I would just get one from Namecheap with a domain reg/renewal.

  • hmm

This offer is only applicable for content based web sites; requester must implement SSL2BUY “Secured Site Seal” on the web site. This offer is valid until September 15th, 2014.

A link back and marketing for their company/site for the cost of a free/cheap SSL.

As per the technical side I just put my whole site under https using a htaccess re-direct. Check it out at https://gwych.uk

If it's purely for 'SEO', get a free one from startssl.

Aren't users going to get the "Your connection is not private" error/warning?
