cpu load and cpu utilization on openVZ node

My cpu loads for the openVZ node are:

load average: 11.46, 11.68, 12.39

but when I run # vzcpucheck I get:

Current CPU utilization: 15000
Power of the node: 1439970

Does that make sense, are the two separate and therefore misleading? Which one should I be looking out for? What is the power of the node? I'm guessing it's telling me the max the server can handle?

Comments

  • CPU units are only used for priority purposes, they don't limit usage or play that big of a role in CPU utilization.

vzcpucheck isn't telling you CPU usage, it is only telling you how many units you have allocated to servers.

  • I got it thanks, there was a vps that was abusing usage that's why the load was so high. I took care of it.
