That sounds like a great idea for personal use but a horrible idea for production use.
I have heard of companies doing this. Very bad idea. Might be ok to do it for your own use thought. Personally, I wouldn't.
I do :P Perfect for personal use, but aweful for production.
It works.
I use LXC inside a dedi for solely private use, i.e. divide websites I was managing into different containers.
It works on KVM too, just that there might not be enough memory / IP addresses to divide.
It works and works great actually, there is almost zero loss, it add's scale-ability and recovery and load balancing become much easier.
Frankly I think slabbing is probably the future for OpenVZ.
