I do not know the provider, but gathered some information.
BGP now shows for AS55053 Kihi Hosting and not anymore USAccess.
If there is any relation between them I could not determine.
MTR to my server show the second last hop has the hostname pc-1.rowswitch4.kit.rackanddata.com which leads to rackanddata.com.
The website itself states "Stay connected with Waterloo Region's Premier Co-Location facility.", but no further information about their data center location.
Here helps http://www.datacentermap.com/canada/waterloo/rack-data.html which states the location as "Kitchener Ontario, Canada". Kitchener is in the Waterloo area and Kihi also named Kitchener as their location here https://kihihosting.com/about.
So it seems that the information is correct. Kihi ownes the hardware, colocated with Rack & Data in Kitchener Ontario, Canada.
However the IPs seemed to be buyed/leased from Crissic Solutions.
do you actually gets 120GB of HDD space?
To clear that up, USAccess leased the IP space prior, they no longer needed them, and we later re-leased this IP block. WHOIS data can sometimes show an incorrect ASN/information as it is cached.
$2/Month for 120GB Disk is a steal.
@black
Took a while to complete, but here it is.
@zhuanyi
I think @sleddog answered it already..
Also want to mention that you can't mount a CD for like a netinstall, reinstalls are based off templates.
Just another happy Crissic customer...
"Incredible VPS service. Not only for hosting (my benchmarks are great!), but for support as well. Never have I see someone respond to a ticket quicker than 60 seconds."

Now this is the part that is not so good :-(
Looks like he's trying to compete with DigitalOcean
Wtf their upload speeds are better than their download speeds... I think this is the first time I've seen this.
You'll have to ask him
I see it as part of a very interesting Canadian trend towards modern & affordable VPS offerings. Others are Luna Node and Quadex Hosting. It's been slim pickings for us Canadians for a long time and I welcome it. Would make an interesting LEB article don't you think @mpkossen?
Yes, and hopefully Canadian providers that remain sane ... and communicative (as any provider from anywhere should).
Amusingly, I was just at the Rack & Data datacenter on Thurs (the owner is partners with K-W datacenter) so it's at the same location. They are fairly new though - just started end of 2013.
Isn't that just an Angry American offering services out of OVH Canada? <-- note smilie
@sleddog: LMAO!!! Touché
That's a pretty sweet deal, obviously I won't expect it to be in par as XenPower, but I guess I'll just grab one for fun
To be fair it is a lot tougher to offer services out of Canada due to the high power and human cost, and of course, lack of competition in general.
For $2 I don't think you will regret it.. and it's fun trying out a different CP.
more like...buy it, leave it there and forget about it (just like my CloudAtCost one)...LOL
I'm sure we've all been guilty of that :P
@zhuanyi: I have a healthy respect for all providers and how tough it is (been there, done that). My point is that providers also need to have a healthy respect for their customers who pay them and thereby ensure their existence and longevity.
Just found out the Debian templates were mislabeled the 32 bit actually installs the 64 bit and vice versa.. I just put in a ticket hopefully they fix it..
Have not tried the other templates but maybe good to check.
--update
Pretty quick to reply.. seems they're fixing it now.
I cannot believe 120GB for such a low price. How will he manage to profit ? He sure must have got a good funding backup.
2$ plan:
"Oops, there's a problem...
Out of Stock
We are currently out of stock on this item so orders for it have been suspended until more stock is available. For further information, please contact us."
Oops ...
Had an email saying they were upgrading to SSD cached and adding a second node today, so maybe check back later...
Maybe they were under ddos, being mentioned on leb and ranges posted means the possibility some kid was "stressing" them during the test is quite high.
Just to follow up, from another email today...
Pricing looks good for KVM and location. Speed is mediocre at the moment, hopefully service will be reliable in the long run.
