Do you have anything smaller (and cheaper)? Looking for a basic personal VPN end point in mother Russia
We cant follow USA laws on Russian Federation territory. But still our country has own anti-piracy laws. So we dont encourage anyone for piracy or illegal content. We dont like spam, botnet controllers, adult or child porn, etc... Most likely after we'll get any abuse your VPS will be turned off
Sorry, no.
Nice to see a Russian provider offering prices and specs which are very competitive even internationally. Also, far from being a one-man-show, this seems to be a proper company, backed by an ISP (RNET), and with their own DC. Best of luck!
ISP RNet.ru and VStoike.ru is one company with few brand names We have own DC with own staff in downtown area of Saint-Petersburg, Russian Federation.
Thank you for all your support and encouragement!
as strong as Putin? or as dumb as Putin?
It's just a joke, I want to add tags like vodka, bear and balalayka, but cant. Anyway, nothing political in my words.
@jamaica it was a joke too...
in Russia VPS rents you
SolusVM.
No adult porn is allowed? Why?
Thanks.
@jamaica BTW your speed test does not work over IPv6:
can support custom windows iso with own license?
Will clarify this moment with our lawyer. I think it's because strange status of adult porn on territory of our country, but I'm just tech specialist, so may be I'm wrong.
Thank you!
My bad Will fix this few hours later. Thank you for pointing this.
Yes. Just buy a VPS, write down a ticket and share your ISO with me.
Thanks.
P.S So glad that some of you are interested
and, any free ipv6? thx
1 IPV6 address is included. Do you need more? If yes, write support ticket
Thanks.
Sure thing. Here's the link:
http://vstoike.ru/virtual/traffic
Yes. This is true.
@rm_ fixed ipv6 problem.
So dedicated Gigabit port costs approx. $1000/mo. I see.
Port and a bandwidth. If you want just GigE port to feel yourself comfortable with "some" free space available for your traffic(when u need it) it will cost you 10$/month.
Regards
We got 1000 Mbit/s port here, right?
From http://vstoike.ru/virtual/traffic, looks like we can get unlimited bandwidth with 100 Mbit/s port?
There is an error on the site. Will be fixed tomorrow. 100Mbit port with 3TB traffic limit.
May be few month later we'll be ready to give unlim traffic, but not now. Sorry.
3TB if fair enough for this price.
Yes, it is already good.
Oh, hello guys. Nice to meet you here.
IPv6 support is nice, but why the hell do you provide 1 IPv6 address? I bet you have your own /32 or even more, and I can't just imagine your planning scheme.
Do you do filtering of blacklisted websites on your link? If yes, how exactly do you filter it (IP / DNS / DPI)?
And to everyone who wants VPN in Russia: you probably don't want it. We have a list of blacklisted websites, and there are a lot of them (even youtube, but nobody blocks it. Yet). New laws regarding internet regulation are born almost every month, so for now we have the registry of blocked sites with "child porn" (well, I almost sure you won't call it child in your country, it's either usual porn with the participants who doesn't look their age or drawn pictures in anime style), suicide how-tos and drug-related information. Recently, all the gambling websites were also blocked and I'm not sure why, because there was no law for that.
ISPs are forced to set up en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SORM (a new device) which is used to capture all the traffic and store it for months.
From August 1, there would be a new law about bloggers. If you have more than 3000 unique visitors on your blog a day, you should register yourself as a blogger in the registry. If you don't do that, probably your blog would be added in blacklist and you'll get fine or something.
But, well, you can download literally everything you want. Our ISPs have their own local torrent trackers, DC++ hubs full of music, movies and games and nobody will say you a word.
There are a lot of other ridiculous laws which I don't even want to remember.
Yeah, would someone think of the children in all those anime and cartoon drawings! They suffer so much from having been made to participate in all that indecency, and their lives get ruined forever
I think if anyone wants that, then for entirely mundane things such as buying/activating cheap games on Steam (not sure if that still works, though), and those won't affected by the blacklists.
Automatic ipv6 subnet deligation will be available when new soluvm comes out ( 1.16 I think ). If u want it now - we can give it to you manualy - from /48 do /64
About "blacklisted sites" - I think you realy out of topic here because this "blacklisting theme" does not affect 99% of usual internet users/customers. Realy, u r buying "cheap vps kvm" for surfing sites like " how to make a bomb " ? I dont think so. Well if you want to use our service to host things like this - we walk a different road.
P.S. Just to make it clear for everyone - this law in Russia is multi-layered :
1) First hosting-provider receives abuse/notification from goverment-structure about inappropriate web-site/content.
2) Hosting-provider notifies his customer that his website/content is against the law and should be removed ( content, not the entire web-site )
3) IF and only IF hosting-provider and web-site owner do nothing (in 1-2 days) - web-site will be added to national "blacklist" and all ISP's in RU will start to block it ( by IP or @L7 )
