setting country/location during VPS Installation

subinsubin Member
edited April 2012 in General

Hi, i'm from asia. I have a VPS in UK. My visitor will be from my home country in asia.
During installation, which country and timezone that i should choose? UK or my home country?

For 2 years, i choose my home country as location and timezone, and so far, there is no problems.
I just wondering.

The only minor drawback is the installation will set ubuntu repo to my home country which is not so fast from UK.
I just wondering if there is another things related to timezone/location.

Thanks

I prefer my own timezone, makes it easier when reading logs if you dont need to count the time difference.

You can always change the repo after the initial installation.

    This.

Once you've set everything up to your fancy, have a look in the /etc/apt/sources.list file. You can get at it by using nano, or whatever your preferred text editor is.
