Debian 6 (squeeze) gets Long Term Support

tl;dr: Debian 6 to be supported until Feb 2016 (which is 5 years from the initial release) instead of support being dropped when Debian 8 comes out. Security support will be done by a group of volunteers and companies (not the Debian Security Team). Debian 7 and 8 will likely also be LTS releases if this process works well for Debian 6.

When legacy systems run on Debian 6 then it won't die........... just look at Windows XP

Because it works the way it should. Its stable, mostly secure so long you do the right things, available software/packages, etc.
Even if they dropped support, i know tons still roll with it as it runs just right.
Kinda like Goldilocks and the 3 bears. The pourige is just right
