Any notable Startups using lowend vps services?

Just wondering any early stage startups using low end vps services to save money and scale better? In other way, do you recommend any vps service that can be used for Enterprise customers reliably?

  • If you build your own redundancy, you can.

If you want reliability you shouldn't look for one VPS service, you should distribute your servers across multiple.

There were some "Web 2.0" start-ups posted by DigitalOcean as example "success stories" of customers who use their service (with scaling via auto-deployment using their API, etc), also saving thousands of dollars from costs of renting the dedis they were using previously. Can't remember the details at the moment though.

Can you explain redundancy little more? Is this related to load-balancing and fail-over?

I see iwstack provides load-balancer. Any other providers on fail-over setup?
