CubePath MCP: Would You Let an AI Assistant Manage Your VPS?

CubePathCubePath Member, Patron Provider

Hey LowEndTalk,

We have an MCP server at CubePath that lets compatible AI assistants, such as Claude Code, interact with your cloud infrastructure.

Once connected, you can ask things like:

  • “List my servers and their current status.”

  • “Show me the CPU and memory usage of this VPS.”

  • “Create a VPS in Barcelona with 2 vCPU and 4 GB RAM.”

The assistant uses CubePath’s tools to carry out the request, within the permissions you grant.

You choose which organization and permissions it can access. You can start with read-only access to check your servers and metrics before granting permissions to make changes.

Setup instructions and supported clients are available at https://mcp.cubepath.com/

Would you keep it read-only, or would you also let an assistant create and modify servers?

If you’re already using MCP to manage infrastructure, we’d like to hear what’s been useful in practice.

Wow, it can do things I can already do myself with no effort on every hosting panel?

"hey claude, read for me" "hey claude, press a button for me"

paying money for ai to write command is another level of laziness

  • Claude make me a SaaS, buy a VPS and deploy, advertise the slop on LET and tell me when i made my first lambo. What could go wrong.

After working with AI for couple of server building tasks, I came to below two conclusions.

    • Instructions to the AI should be very precise and clear. Otherwise, it will carryout destructive actions like production deployments without your approval or create a fully featured script that will run for about 1 hour with backup/restore/verify functionalities for a simple port change.
    • It is heavily advised by most AI providers to not to disclose sensitive or secret related information to AI. So im not sure we can trust full root access or key hashes yet to AI unless its a private AI.
