Second @averagedatahoarder
ipv6?
Landing very soon....
When will it be available?
In talks with our lessors at the moment, I would estimate one week from now but if anything happens ahead of schedule we will ship an update here.
@PrivateByte Make it 10Gbps and I'll give it a try
We are actually working on making 10Gbps affordable at scale, right now its just not feasible for us unfortunately.
I'll settle for 2.5Gbps
Appreciate the step-down, but our networks are on a 1 Gbps port limit for now.
Useless
Sorry!
Just joking haha -- your services look decent GLWS!
Thank you!
Update: IPv6 is now live in London.
Dallas is upcoming.
A long time coming but Dallas IPv6 has made it online
Any recurring BF offers in the UK?
BF25 is the code for 25% off recurring VPS plans
BF99 doesn't work
Reserved for when we have ample compute lol
hey, when you say 100 mbps, is it duplex, e.g. 100 up + 100 down, or just 50 up 50 down?
It is 100 up + 100 down or as close to the stated figure depending on network congestion at the time, our p90 figures show speeds are within 10% of the stated figure per plan for the last 90 days.
Let us me know when that happens.
Does that scale up to your 1g plans as well? Whats the connection speeds on the hypervisors?
>
When they claimed 1g plans are Unmetered, some are at 100mbps, meaning this limit is software-set, meaning hypervisors are 10g+. just my thoughts. at vps level, it really doesn't matter anymore.
The price is good. I'll take some
Yeah, figured it’s 10g+ as well, but would like to confirm what it is. Prices are reasonable
@CraigRoeder @sumo port speed is set per plan (software), not by the host.
Host uplinks vary by location, if you can let me know which region I can give you a number.
1G plans are unmetered with no overage charges. Tell us the location and plan you're eyeing and we'll give you the specifics. Thanks for the interest.
Dallas or London. What's considered an acceptable amount of bandwidth per month for 1g unmetered?
Dallas we are on 2.5g and London is 5g, acceptable would mean anything that does not cause constant network suppression or congestion for other neighbours on the network which I understand is a vague answer but there isn't a solid answer I can give as networks remain volatile and subject to the use of every guest vm on the host machine. If we capped bandwidth the answer would be easy and other hosts that provide capped plans can do their network saturation maths on the back of a napkin. The bandwidth we provide is not a dedicated port per plan, rather its shared and subject to fair use. We try and keep the network healthy by increasing our uplink figures at the DC when we feel like the amount of users on a specific node are contending for network supply too much.
Thanks for the details. I think the Flare and Orbit plans you've posted are good deals.
This is a good proactive approach.
