This looks pretty good deal. The renewal price is the problem.

Also, does anyone know where do they have epyc Rome and where epyc Milan?

Also do you know where do they have ryzen 9000? For another deal.

Open a ticket. When I asked last year they gave me a full list within 5 mins.

Man, I'm a customer, not a SolidVPS employee! LOL 😂 You're asking the wrong guy!

I have no idea whether that 5–10% is mandatory or just something they put there to protect themselves against future costs. My guess is the latter, especially considering how ridiculously cheap some of these deals are.

For what it's worth, I have 8 dedicated servers and around 24 VPS with SolidVPS. I've been upgrading those dedicated servers from 2014 all the way through 2026, and their prices have never increased. Not once.

I did experience two price increases on some dirt-cheap Christmas and Black Friday VPS deals over the years. Both were just a couple of bucks.

When I see people here screaming about a 300% price increase, I sometimes wonder if we're talking about a $2/year VPS going to $6/year. Sure, mathematically that's 300%, but come on, guys, that's $4 a YEAR! 😂 The provider might be spending $20 just to keep that thing running.

Now, I don't usually like getting involved in LET drama because, frankly, there's enough of it here to produce a Netflix series. LOL.

But one thing I've learned over the years is that there's a lot of bias, affiliate interests, and personal agendas floating around. I've purchased services that people here hyped up like they were the greatest invention since sliced bread, only to discover they were complete garbage. On the other hand, I've seen people trash providers, including an email service I personally use that I consider one of the best I've ever had.

So I take opinions here with a grain of salt. Not everything people say is necessarily the full story.

I also sincerely believe some folks here are either very young or have unrealistic expectations about what it costs to operate a business.

Let me give you a real-world example. My home internet bill increased THREE times this year alone. I was paying around $29/month, and now I'm paying $69.95/month. That's just ONE bill! Don't even get me started on everything else.

So when I see a provider mentioning a possible 5–10% yearly adjustment, I don't automatically assume they're trying to rob me in broad daylight. 😂 Nobody knows what electricity, bandwidth, hardware, licensing, or operating costs will look like tomorrow.

And with everything happening around the world right now, including reports of people in parts of Europe stocking up on food and preparing for uncertainty, I wouldn't exactly bet my retirement on prices coming down anytime soon.

We all know what happens when the big guys start cooking something. Somehow, the little guys always end up paying for dinner. LOL.

  • tzulitzuli Member

@mrKik0 I'm not sure how much of that is in response to my comment. That server cost a lot more than $6/yr. But I don't feel like I have bias or a personal agenda here, I even said they're a good provider. Hopefully I was just unlucky

Oh no, I'm sorry! I really didn't mean you personally at all! 😂 I was just speaking in general about what I've seen on LET over the years. I read here a lot more than I post, and I've seen people throwing around everything from 40% to 600% price increases. I just happened to use 300% as an example.

Just sharing my experience and observations, nothing directed at you. No shots fired, I promise! 😂 We already have enough LET drama without me accidentally starting another season! LOL.

And with that, I think I'll go back to being a silent observer again. Much safer watching the drama than accidentally becoming part of the cast! 🍿😂

All good. Generally speaking, I agree with you. I just want to be clear that I wasn't trying to smear them or anything. They're one of the better providers that have come through LET

Just wanted to chime in as well. I have over a dozen servers with SolidVPS and couldn’t be happier with their service. Their support is top-notch - they respond quickly and even go out of their way to accommodate requests at no extra charge, which is a rarity with other hosts these days. As for uptime, there were some minor hiccups in Tampa, but the team resolved them promptly. They didn’t just slap a band-aid on it, they addressed the root cause properly. For me personally, it’s a truly solid service with fair pricing and premium support.

Oh I have more tickets, those were just the fastest xD
Server migration: less than 2 hours from ticket creation to close
Issue with cost increase being wrong: less than 15 minutes from ticket to close
    etc.

  • I also enjoy their support, very fast and to the point. I guess they could have handled this price increase point better but well, one can criticise everything, especially if there is plenty of free time and nothing much to do.
