Rough target (flexible):

  • CPU: Ryzen 9 9950X / 7950X preferred
  • RAM: ideally 96GB+
  • Storage: NVMe preferred
  • Network: 1 Gbps+; unmetered or generous transfer
  • Billing: month-to-month preferred

    Interesting hunt — two matching 9950X/7950X boxes with 96GB+ and 2TB+ NVMe is a tall order on month-to-month billing. Do the two machines need to be in the same facility (for clustering or replication), or could they be split across locations? Curious what workload you're planning, since that spec suggests something fairly storage- or IO-heavy.

    Thanks! Just to clarify, they don't need to match. Mixed configs are fine (e.g. one 7950X + one 9950X).

    They can be in different locations, no clustering needed. Workload is heavy SQL (CPU and IO bound), and good connectivity to Ontario, Canada is a plus.

    Thanks for the offer! Unfortunately the E5-2690v4 doesn't fit my needs. My workload depends on strong single-core performance, so I'm looking for Ryzen 7950X/9950X class (or EPYC 4004/4005). If you have something like that around $200/mo, I'd be happy to take a look.
