Nice job @MassiveGRID , can't even legit hold up the normal 3 years for a plan you offer...

Trust me, not a massive lost. Massivegrid vps was massively shitty. I used it for a proxy, so it got the job done.

According to the email they will migrate to the new service December 1, 2026, but the new pricing will not be effective until next renewal. What the new price will be is not disclosed, it just says that it will be visible in the customer portal after the change.
My guess is that they are hoping people will forget to cancel and be forced renewed with the new pricing. A dick move if I ever saw one.

    How to force a renewal?
You don’t pay the invoice and they cannot do much.

This is dumb, they should at least prorate what’s left of our plan for cancellations.

Really? You think corporations just silently ignore when customers do not pay invoices?

I think you get your 4 years as planned, but after that it's the new plan with the new price

Surprise: I - known to very much dislike their VPS - am not angry (at least not yet).

    Reasons:
    (a) they seem to honour the 3 (4) years paid in advance.
    (b) they might (not 'did' but 'might') have recognized how utterly shitty their VPS are and if they as a company want to survive they NEED to change some things (hardware, switches, whatever).

So, AFAIC IF the "upgraded" VPS after December 1st actually were somewhat better, say "standard crappy level" I wouldn't complain but actually renew. After all paying say, €1/mo for a crappy but actually usable VPS is better than paying €0.5/mo for a scrap lottery.

    Really sneaky.
I sent them a ticket to complain.
I supose they want to charge this, as it is the current "offer":

» Linux Auto Installed Operating System: Auto Install Ubuntu Server 24.04 64bit $0.00 USD
» Shared Intel Xeon CPU vCores: 1 $61.99 USD
    » RAM DDR4 ECC Registered (GB): 1 $17.28 USD
» Primary High Availability SSD Storage (GB): 32 $7.04 USD
» Additional High Availability SSD Storage (GB): 0 $0.00 USD
» Guaranteed Internet Traffic: 1 TB $0.00 USD
    » IP Addresses: 1 $0.00 USD
» Backup storage space (in GB): 0 $0.00 USD
» Support Packages: Managed Server Support $0.00 USD
    Setup Fees: $0.00 USD
    Triennially: $86.31 USD

More than 3 times what I paid before.

The terms I purchased 2024-11-09: 1 core, 4GB of RAM, 75GB of disk, 1Gbps with IPv4 (no IPv6 AFAICT) for $48.10 as a 3+1 year (buy 3, get a 4th free) term. That works out to just a hair over $1/month and a term through 2028-11-08.

Attempting to use their "configure a VPS" builder for comparable specs (I had to bump disk to 96GB due to picker-granularity puts it at $151.85 for 3 years, or $4.22/month. Dropping it to 64GB of disk shaves ~$0.20 off the monthly price.

I've submitted a case for clarification.

No idea. It's only been two years since the offer. I'll post if I keep the remaining 2 years or get a middle finger invoice.

Thats a bolox move. Scam from beginning.

Just got a reply to my ticket:

Thank you for contacting us and sharing your feedback. We understand that changes to pricing are never welcome, and we appreciate the chance to explain the reasons behind this decision.
The LET offer was introduced under very different market conditions. Since then, the cost of server hardware, particularly memory and storage, has risen exponentially by a factor of 4-10 times the original pricing across the industry. As a result, the original pricing is no longer sustainable for us without compromising the quality, stability, and support you rely on. We chose to move these services onto our 2026 product line rather than reduce service standards or let the infrastructure behind them age
To keep the transition as fair as possible:
    1. No change before your renewal. Your current price stays in effect until the end of your current billing cycle. The new pricing applies only from your next renewal.
    2. Flexible alternatives. If the new plan does not fit your budget or requirements, we can move your service to any other product in our current range that suits you better. Just reply to this ticket with your preference, and we will take care of the change.
    3. Cancellation remains available. If you would rather not continue, you can submit a cancellation request through the Secure Customer Portal before your renewal date, and you will not be charged the new rate.

Meanwhile I've looked at my email and read what @MassiveGRID has sent.

To me it looks fair as far as concerning my VPS now and till current contract period ends.

Would I pay €4+ per month? No, hell no! But before getting emotional let's wait till they tell us the renewal cost at the beginning of December.

I mean, I could give a crap, their vps were junk and I cancelled them ages ago, but sometimes it feels like you just like to argue. When the providers listing quite literally had this:

@MassiveGRID said: Lifetime Price Guarantee: Your discounted rate is locked in forever. No sneaky price hikes—ever.

it's kind of hard to fault people for being annoyed.
