You'll need a real owned AS; not a private one.
Hello!
Based on my knowledge when you add a new subnet via BYOIP you have a tickbox where you acknowledge that you cannot advertise anycast IPs. Looks like there is an open issue that tracks this feature: https://github.com/ovh/infrastructure-roadmap/issues/108
I was under the impression that OVH only supported proper BGP sessions on their current-gen servers (so $500/month+ spend) but otherwise it is doable.
In other cases you are only BYOIPing under their AS
You can BYOAS and BYOIP on their vRack which is supported from SYS (starts at 30€ or so) and upwards.
BGP sessions that you control are in closed beta tho.
i will give it a try... thank you!
do I need 2 dedicated servers to activate vRack, or they will allow me to activate the feature with only 1 server to get bgp?
also, do they provide ddos protection for announced /24s as well or just main server IPs on their asn?
I tried to participate in beta, but all of my servers are Kimsufi, not eligible for vRack.
They have limit of 4 BGP sessions and 10 hosts per client, but no minimum requirement (1+, obviously): https://docs.ovhcloud.com/en/guides/network/bgp-service/bgp-service-config
