Anyone using SolaDrive's residential VPS lately?
Hey guys,
Anyone here using SolaDrive's residential VPS? I'm looking at their Los Angeles option, which says “Wave or Windstream.”
Most reviews I found are pretty old. Has anyone tried it recently? How's the speed and stability?
Also, does anyone know if these actually run on home/business broadband, or if they're datacenter servers with ISP IPs? I'm interested in the actual connection, not just what IP lookup sites label it.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who's used one lately. Thanks!

I have wave ISP IP at another place, had windstream too all of them get detected by any decent DB as VPN / DC even tho it's in a "Residential" ASN.
So are those actually datacenter-hosted ISP IPs rather than real home broadband connections? Or is it just how the databases classify them?
What is your use case? Most of these Residential VPS providers are fake. If you want a resi IP I'd recommend Webshare Proxy, I pay 8 bucks an year for 3x Shared Residential 250GB and you get true residential IPs. I think it is the same for dedicated residential IP but 1x only.
But if you have any other use case then fair.
They are most likely provisioned somewhere that isn't fully "enterprise" so they don't get fully flagged the same, but yes pretty much anything competent will know it's not real residential.
However, still great for basic browsing, streaming. (Just not so ideal for lot of other things)
Webshare proxy, leverage load of people that don't know they are a proxy. All these sites should be heavily investigated imo. nothing more than "legal" botnet.
Wait wdym?
These guys are pretty good too not sure they changed their domain https://www.vital-data.io/
they are even just label soladrive with buffalo whois and fake reassign info yeah, none are actual res
They pay to basically infect legal android /ios / chrome/ mac / windows apps. often targeting free too use, as it's cheaper for everyone. except the guy having his connection used without his knowledge as he didnt read a 7000000 page ToS.
Use your brain, google it it's well documented, there is no way to have residential on such mass scale without this.
Here is my experience with SolaDrive over the Windstream network. Overall, the service works, and when it does, synthetic speed tests show speeds of 200–700 Mbps.
However, the IP is more of a business IP than a residential one. Some websites display CAPTCHAs. In everyday use, the connection feels somewhere between a data center IP and a residential IP. A true residential IP offers a noticeably smoother experience.
Speeds sometimes drop. Recently, there was an incident lasting about 3-5 days during which speeds dropped by a factor of several hundred. They took a long time to resolve it and gave responses that made little sense.
Support generally responds quickly, but every response I have received has been a stock reply insisting there are no issues on their end. Even if you provide MTR results, other evidence, and access to your system, you still get the same response, followed by another request for an MTR. Nobody seems to read the ticket carefully the first time. They simply send a canned response.
Very often, someone who appears to be in charge of finance reviews the tickets and quotes fees, such as $100 to upload a custom ISO, even though they advertise that service as free. Any request that requires them to lift a finger comes with an extra charge.
It is also extremely inconvenient that you cannot add funds to your account balance or set up automatic card payments. I asked to prepay into my account so future invoices could be paid automatically from that balance, but that request was denied as well.
I will leave you to draw your own conclusions.
