In the AI era, most SaaS services will be replaced by self‑hosted solutions.So...
do you think PaaS will have more opportunities? Because AI can now handle most coding tasks, writing code is no longer very difficult. Many PaaS platforms advertise features such as no maintenance and automatic scaling. However, I believe the biggest problem is their high price; for the same starting price, I can purchase a VPS with better specifications. Regarding deployment and maintenance, AI can perform these tasks as well, or even better. What are your opinions?
(FYI Railway just had a crash recently.)

Is it SaaS of PaaS?
No replcement will be done. As soon as llms begin to charge per token - the tale is over.
From an agency point of view: for simple internal stuff (forms, dashboards, automations) a cheap VPS plus AI doing the setup already beats most SaaS on price. But clients keep paying for SaaS because someone else owns uptime, backups and patching, and this week's PHP RCE is a good reminder of what that's worth. Self-hosting is cheap until you count the babysitting hours.
I think the real gap is in the middle: managed self-hosted stacks for small businesses, flat monthly fee, they own the box. Agree PaaS is hard to justify for small projects at current prices.
