[FREE] ZNC6 – Free ZNC Hosting for the IRC Community

Hi everyone,

I'd like to share ZNC6 / ZncFreeHosting, a personal project aimed at supporting the IRC community by providing free ZNC bouncer accounts.

What is ZNC6?

ZNC6 is a free ZNC hosting service that allows IRC users to stay connected to their networks even when their IRC client is offline.

Key information:

  • Completely free: No paid plans or premium upgrades.
  • Personal project: Independently operated, with no company or organization behind it.
  • Best-effort service: No uptime guarantee or promise of permanent availability.
  • Capacity-based registrations: New registrations may be limited or temporarily suspended depending on available server resources.
  • Account rules: Accounts must comply with the service policies and may be suspended or terminated in cases of abuse.

Get started:

Website and registration: https://znc.bigbastik.com

Project information: https://github.com/bigbastik/znc6-free-hosting

Please review the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Abuse Policy available on the website before registering.

This is a personal project created to help keep IRC accessible and useful for the community. Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for reading, and happy IRCing!

Projects always ending after owner has no time, dies, or not pay the bills.

I apologize that this was perceived as a duplicate; there was a technical mix-up, but the post will remain up now. P.S. The Undernet network has increased the limit for the portal's IPv6 class. Thanks, everyone.

You’re right, that’s how most of them end up—I hope I can prove you wrong.

  • IPv6 Connectivity Restored – Service Back to Full Operation

Over the past two days, you may have noticed connectivity issues affecting ZNC6 Free Hosting, particularly when connecting to IRC networks over IPv6.

The problems were caused by a network issue on our hosting provider's side. Unfortunately, the situation turned out to be more serious than initially expected and required additional troubleshooting to identify and resolve it properly.

The issue was resolved today, October 24, and the service is now back to full operation.

I'd like to sincerely thank everyone in the community who signed up for ZNC6 and remained patient throughout these issues. This is an independently operated free hosting project, and I truly appreciate your understanding while I worked to restore normal connectivity.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and support.

Thank you for being part of ZNC6 Free Hosting!

Update: Live Support WebChat Now Available!

I've added a new WebChat page to make getting support for the free ZNC hosting service easier.

You can now connect directly to our official IRC support channel through your browser, without installing an IRC client or configuring anything on your computer.

    Live Support WebChat: https://znc.bigbastik.com/chat

Join #freeznc to get in touch with the admin directly, ask questions, get help with your ZNC setup, or troubleshoot connection issues.

Whether you're new to IRC or an experienced user, feel free to drop by if you need assistance!

Thanks to everyone using the service. More updates coming soon!
