Olease do not use technology that is forbidden by your government. Respect your rulers. You have tour own products - use them.

since when Chinese goverment forbid people in China use AI from US?

and of course people in China use Chinese AI a lot, most of them even don't have a valid credit card to pay the subscription, what makes you believe people in China mainly use US AI?

for those who post on social media, i can say most of these guys just want sell you tokens they take advantages from openai, anthropic and Google

TBH, i think take advantages from these big companies is good

What?! Are you out of your social credits? The great firewall forbids everything non-Chinese.

If you don’t have any money, are you planning to go to another country to beg?

Can't even think why you bring the topic of being beggars. You should find a job in other countries or taiwan or get CN remote job. Thailand, Vietnam is pretty good

In our country, going abroad is a very difficult thing.

Ah. Thought it's very easy since there's so many mainland chinese migrating overseas and become overseas chinese

No, the GFW only block things "we believe" are bad, like hate/terrorism/LGBT etc...

sadly, these trashs are everywhere out side of China

BTW, LET is NOT banned in China

  • Isn't the easiest way is go with the API route?
Get bifrost or some other OSS program on a Docker container, grab a API key from Anthropic and plug into Bifrost, use your Bifrost url as the provider in your Claude or ChatGPT or other third party interface.

    Thanked by 1eveliakal
  • also chinese, why ask here? there is already a tremendous amount of discussion and a wide variety of services related to this topic within local forums

In my experience, IP quality isn't that important; a non-shared data center IP that isn't blacklisted is enough. What matters more is using a payment method that doesn't raise suspicion. Overseas home broadband is optional if your payment method and source of funds are “clean” enough

They want cheap, a 200 knives plan subscription offers more than 200 knives in spend

Yeah that kinda makes sense. But tbh it's tiring to track since there are multiple limits in effect at the same time.
It's easier to do when they only have 1 person / account / subscription lol. I'm moving to API so my family would have better access than dealing with the "benefit" of free account

  • I don’t think hosting is the real issue here. The bans seem tied to the account’s region, not the server. If it keeps happening, it might be less stressful to switch to a model that’s actually available where you are.

Why Chinese want to use claude when they have deepseek, xiaomi mimo and others? Why?

relied on by Chinese developers for complex software architecture and by Chinese AI labs to train and distill their own models.

  • claude is so crazy

No need for region or IP blocks.

    If input = Chinese, ban.
If input = bad English clearly from Chinese speaker, ban.

I'm curious, why does Anthropic do this? China is a big market to limit.

    Because they're distilling + embargo

  • i use digislash.com, you could give it ago, its also about 80% cheaper for claude and i think 93% cheaper for Astra.

    its pretty cool.

North Americam companies dislike splashing out R&D $$$ and have it stolen by China.

Gotcha. I'm curious, how do you train an AI model with a running AI model?

  • 别折腾了,用中转吧

  • An immigrant beggar and a redneck who hates homeless.
What does this have to do with the Chinese government?

  • Visa and Mastercard cards issued in China belong to a localized payment system, and their payment and dispute mechanisms seem completely different from those in other countries. For example, if you get banned by Anthropic, you cannot dispute the charges or claim a refund. This means that unless you use payment methods issued by foreign banks, you cannot even qualify as a customer of Anthropic .

  • Some people don't want to spend too much money, but still want what they perceive to be authentic services—just like DeepSeek marketed as Claude Fable 5.5. I often see this on those unrestricted API relay sites, hehe

Claude may become suspicious if they see DC IP.

I run Claude Code on a few different European/American VPSs with no problem [yet]

Edit: I pay with a European credit card and European contact details, which may be relevant here...but I wouldn't ever run it on my personal devices, so I only use VPSs

I was considering this, same concerns as you. I’m assuming you’re running Claude code terminal? Any minimum specs (vcore/ram) you recommend?

You are going to love using Surplus Intelligence / Inferhub.
Both offer top tier LLM API via trusted and untrusted sources. I prefer trusted sources cuz they have a better TPS.

I swear, its so hurtful to tell someone to follow something they never signed up for. LLM Access should be a basic human right for every human on the planet.

Tafak. Are you mad?! Llm must be a privilege to still have people who can think on their own.
