Hi @rumpum -- happy to clear this up! RackNerd is not affiliated with Dedirock or any other hosting brands in any way.

Looking at your examples, it does seem they've taken quite a bit of inspiration from our website elements, offers, and promotional style. We've seen other providers do the same over the years too, so I can understand why you're asking :)

We're all for seeing others succeed, and we've even helped other providers within this community along the way. We wish success to every company putting in the work to help make this community what it is -- we all deserve to win!

By the way, many of you here have been with RackNerd from our early days. Fast forward to today, we've been recognized among America's fastest-growing private companies on the Inc. 5000 for three consecutive years in a row: https://www.inc.com/profile/racknerd-llc

We sincerely appreciate everyone who's supported us along the way, and we're not taking our foot off the gas. We'll continue to flourish and prosper, and keep doing our part to give back to the community too. 👊

    #RackNerdGang

Have you considered taking a chunk of that revenue growth and offering premium VPS plans with Genoa/Turin/Venice or Ryzen 9 processors?

Hi @rogerwilco -- Good question! Listening to our customers has played a big part in RackNerd's success, so feedback like this is always appreciated. We're big on reinvesting in our growth too, and we're certainly open to exploring new markets :)

For full transparency, we’ve dabbled in the past by offering Ryzen VPS (and even EPYC and Ryzen bare metal infrastructure), and we’ve found that for the VPS side of business, when compared to our general VPS offerings based on enterprise Intel proc's, the market for Ryzen VPS represents a smaller niche market, and slow growth. We can and still do offer Ryzen 7950X VPS's across multiple datacenter locations (and I'm happy to make deals on a case by case basis, if you don't see a current Ryzen deal on our website that fits your needs), though again speaking generically, the demand has been low -- we know this not only from first hand experience, but also through many of the friends we have within the industry, and also customers leveraging our bare metal too.

We also understand that times do change, so perhaps if the interests grows, we will certainly offer more virtualized products with those processors. Every so often, we’ll reach out to our large client base to get a better understanding of what’s needed and wanted, and deliver on that.

  • @dustinc since you are replying in here, can I ask a side question?
Your Tampa DC, do you actively sell anything out of there? I have never seen a service for sale there when I have checked your site. Is it an older DC or something?

Hi @stupidgenius - good catch! We actively do have a large presence in Tampa, and it was one of our first locations. We have a healthy amount of bare metal there :) If you by chance need baremetal here, just get in touch and I can work out a deal 👊

    Interesting thread...

"Dedi Rock LLC" bills under the name "Atlas Cloud LLC" which also happens to have a name collision with https://www.atlascloud.ai/ an AI company in Menlo Park, CA (appears unrelated)

The dedirock.com whois points to atlascloud.tech emails, and a 949 (California) area code. However search also found the company info with a phone number hosted by https://telnyx.com/ with area code 954, in Broward County, Florida.

Atlas Cloud LLC is registered at a co-working space in Clearwater, FL as well as two other company names with Danny Dahl as the owner.

What does it all mean? IDK. Probably nothing. Hopefully this post is okay and not considered doxxing.

Welp... went down a rabbit hole after this. Better than brainrot binge-watching yet another Netflix show I guess. I also found this:

    https://web.archive.org/web/20170107043400/https://www.spamhaus.org/rokso/evidence/ROK11457/online-media-connect/main-information

Danny Dahl left strong clues in comments to his own threads that he lives in Florida, that happened earlier in the year, I remember those comments very well. I'm not a fan of his services and don't follow him but he used to shitpost sometimes and I love shitposts, I stopped finding him funny and stopped paying attention to him months ago. Most of his posts were bot generated but some were posted by Danny himself, he left unintentional clues sometimes.

No, @purpledaddy is AI whereas @DediRock is fake AI. He too cute to be AI.

DaddyRock cannot be AI, he is not advanced enough to be AI but purpledaddy can, he looks very advanced and professional.

In my view purpledaddy runs the show and DaddyRock is his sidekick.

Let me sleep on this... If true my world will be shattered to pieces.

I noticed they have the same coupon code with same offers.

Dedirock even publishes about Racknerd on their blog.

    https://dedirock.com/blog/racknerd-expands-global-presence-with-new-data-center-launch-in-dublin/

Just curious. I have seen people comparing them and even fighting which one is better.

    Hey @runpum,

How are you, man? I see your viewpoint on the similarities. I can say though DediRock is definitely it own independent brand while taking inspiration from top hosts such as RackNerd.

As for the blog, we create our content on industry news, and RackNerd definitely being a leader in the space is a great company to write about.

We also like to blog about other things as well :)

    Hey @stupidgenius,

Ha, not considered doxxing :) All good. Yeah, definitely located here in Clearwater, FL, lots of sun :) Moved out from CA a while ago, miss some of my favorite food spots out there, but definitely dig Florida.

I started the business out as Atlas Cloud LLC, then kind of changed course and went with DediRock later on.

Besides using a bot most of the time DaddyRock the person sulks very easily, he is emotionally fragile and looks very unprofessional.

Dustin is very different, he is a real pro and behaves as such.
