WebyStrata's $51.98 "Lifetime Web Hosting" — legit or a trap? What I could verify.

ouzmouzm Member

Not provably fraud: WebyStrata Cloud Technologies is a real, registered Indian Pvt Ltd (CIN checkable on the MCA portal), incorporated 23 March 2026.

But there are real red flags:
1. The refund terms contradict the sales page. The lifetime offer advertises a "30 Days Money Back Guarantee"
, yet the refund policy explicitly lists "Lifetime hosting & reseller hosting plans" as non-refundable — and any coupon/discount purchase loses refund rights too.
2. Timeline mismatch: the homepage claims "SINCE 2021", but the company and the domain both date to March 2026.
3. Thin independent footprint: domain ~6 months old, hidden WHOIS, low traffic; HostAdvice says there "isn't enough data to review properly" (2 reviews, both 5★).

Some "third-party reviews" are actually republished from WebyStrata's own blog.
So: not a proven scam, but a textbook high-risk lifetime deal — you're betting a 6-month-old company is still around when you break even.
My take: fine for a throwaway hobby site you can afford to lose; avoid for anything business-, client-, or revenue-critical.
Has anyone actually bought it — and did the 30-day refund work?

The term Lifetime itshelf is a trap, especially in the hosting industry.

also in this era of $5/yr webhosting is a lifetime scam worth bothering with?

  • lifetime as in however long the company is willing to support you for.

  • Is dedirock and racknerd same company?

    No.

What does that have to do with lifetime hosting?

  • It's the lifetime of the host, not your lifetime.

There's so many offers in the shared hosting section of LET - for example:

    • Dewlance: 30GB, unlim domains, 5 years - $20
    • HostBrr: 50GB, unlim domains, 1 year - $11.50
    • HostDare: 50GB, 100 domains, 1 year - $21.07

you'd be looking at anywhere between 1.5-10+ years to break even. I'd be surprised if they're still around by then.

I also doubt they're using proper whmcs / cpanel - their lifetime reseller hosting comes with 60 cpanel accounts for a one time payment of $260

  • buy a normal directadmin hosting from provider here, for the same budget you prolly get 7 years worth of usage rather than gimmicky lifetime bs, if you just want to host static site cloudflare workers can do that

Why? Can you please explain? I was thinking to buy a plan from them.

  • lifetime is trap , we learned that lesson when we paid for internxt dive and they stubbed us , their lifetime package was scam .

  • lifetime offers from WebyStrata smells SCAM to me. avoid them at all cost.

  • "Lifetime", that's sketchy in itself

I never purchase anything of such offering , would recommend same

Someone Selling Alpha Reseller Hosting, basically using cracked cPanel licenses. So it can't be trusted.
We also sell lifetime plans, but we do it with complete calculations & lifetime plans are 2-3% of our orders.

My experience is been a mostly positive one. The negative is that when I had an outage and filed a ticket for help, while the outage resolved itself about 8 hours later, I only got a response on the ticket days later. The problem resolved itself after an amount of time, but I was stuck without access to my web app. The direct admin host worked but the like, actual websites they were hosting for me were unreachable. I got the $150 lifetime plan and am otherwise satisfied for it. But if you are expecting 100% uptime, that hasn't been my experience so far.

Okay so they are good for testing and hobby projects. Thanks
