[WTB] High-Performance AMD Ryzen / Intel Dedicated Server – 64GB ECC – Multi-Site Hosting – Private

Hello LowEndTalk community,

I'm looking for a reliable, high-performance, fully unmanaged bare-metal dedicated server with sustainable, long-term recurring pricing.

This request is primarily intended for datacenter operators, infrastructure owners, established independent hosting providers, and authorized resellers with access to private, wholesale, or exclusive inventory.

I'm particularly interested in idle hardware, returned or cancelled servers, fully depreciated equipment, datacenter clearance inventory, and privately available configurations that may not be publicly listed.

My priority is finding a dependable server capable of handling a large number of hosted websites, concurrent visitors, database operations, and sustained production workloads, while maintaining consistent performance and long-term stability.

1. CPU Requirements — Performance Is a Priority

The server will host multiple websites, including WordPress installations, vBulletin forums, and MySQL/MariaDB databases.

Therefore, I'm looking for processors that provide strong single-thread performance, sufficient multi-core capacity, and consistent performance under concurrent workloads.

Preferred CPU specifications:

  • Physical cores: Minimum 8 cores.
  • Threads: Minimum 16 threads.
  • Base clock: Preferably 3.2 GHz or higher.
  • Maximum Turbo / Boost: Preferably 4.2 GHz or higher.
  • Single-thread performance: Approximately 2,600+ PassMark points.
  • Overall CPU performance: Approximately 18,000+ PassMark CPU Mark points.
  • Architecture: Modern or relatively recent, with good power efficiency and sustained performance.
  • Performance stability: No excessive thermal throttling or restrictive CPU power limits.

The benchmark figures are guidelines rather than rigid requirements. CPUs with lower base frequencies are welcome if their actual performance is comparable or superior.

Important: Please avoid older, low-clock-speed Xeon processors that offer a high core count but relatively weak single-thread performance.

The goal is to handle many simultaneous website requests, PHP processes, and database queries efficiently without unnecessary CPU bottlenecks.

2. Preferred AMD Processors

AMD Ryzen 7:

  • Ryzen 7 3700X
  • Ryzen 7 3800X / 3800XT
  • Ryzen 7 4700G
  • Ryzen 7 5700 / 5700GE / 5700G
  • Ryzen 7 5700X / 5700X3D
  • Ryzen 7 5800 / 5800X / 5800XT
  • Ryzen 7 7700 / 7700X
  • Ryzen 7 9700X

AMD Ryzen 9:

  • Ryzen 9 3900X
  • Ryzen 9 5900X / 5900XT
  • Ryzen 9 5950X

3. Preferred Intel Processors

Intel Xeon E Series:

  • Xeon E-2278G
  • Xeon E-2288G
  • Xeon E-2378G
  • Xeon E-2388G

Intel Xeon W Series:

  • Xeon W-1270
  • Xeon W-1290 / W-1290P
  • Xeon W-1370P
  • Xeon W-1390P

Intel Core i7:

  • Core i7-10700 / 10700K
  • Core i7-11700 / 11700K
  • Core i7-12700 / 12700K

Intel Core i9:

  • Core i9-9900K
  • Core i9-10850K / 10900K
  • Core i9-11900 / 11900K
  • Core i9-12900 / 12900K / 12900KS

Intel Core i5:

  • Core i5-13500

Equivalent or better-performing AMD and Intel processors are also welcome.

For Intel hybrid processors, please specify the Performance-core specifications and any relevant power limitations.

I'm interested in real-world hosting performance rather than CPU frequency or core count alone.

4. RAM Requirements

  • Minimum 64GB DDR4 ECC RAM.
  • DDR5 ECC is also welcome.
  • Registered ECC or Unbuffered ECC is acceptable, depending on platform compatibility.
  • RAM should be stable and suitable for continuous 24/7 production workloads.
  • Confirmed active ECC functionality is strongly preferred.

Memory capacity is important because the server will run multiple websites, PHP-FPM processes, database services, caching systems, and other hosting-related services simultaneously.

5. Storage Requirements

Preferred configuration:

  • Approximately 2TB NVMe SSD for the operating system, websites, and databases.
  • An additional 4TB HDD for storage and local backups.

Alternative configurations are welcome:

  • 2×960GB NVMe
  • 2×1TB NVMe
  • 1×2TB NVMe
  • Similar or larger NVMe configurations

The additional HDD is preferred but not mandatory if the NVMe configuration and other specifications are attractive.

NVMe storage is important, as the server will handle multiple databases, PHP applications, and frequent concurrent read/write operations.

Healthy drives with reliable SMART data are expected.

6. Network and Connectivity

Minimum acceptable network performance:

  • 300–500Mbps unmetered bandwidth.
  • 1Gbps unmetered preferred.
  • No restrictive monthly traffic quotas or unexpected bandwidth overage charges.
  • Stable international connectivity and reliable routing.
  • One clean, dedicated public IPv4 address minimum.
  • IPv6 support preferred.
  • PTR / reverse DNS configuration required.
  • Outbound SMTP port 25 availability required for legitimate, policy-compliant mail hosting.
  • Basic DDoS protection preferred.

A stable, genuinely usable unmetered connection is more important than a high advertised port speed with restrictive traffic limits.

7. Operating System and Server Access

  • Fully unmanaged dedicated bare-metal server.
  • Full root / administrator access.
  • Compatible with AlmaLinux 8 or AlmaLinux 9.
  • Remote KVM / IPMI / iDRAC preferred.
  • Remote reboot or power management preferred.
  • No mandatory management or administration services.
  • Reliable hardware, network, and infrastructure support.

I will handle the complete server installation, security configuration, hosting environment, maintenance, and website migration independently.

8. Budget and Long-Term Pricing

Maximum recurring budget: $25 USD per month, including all mandatory recurring charges.

I'm specifically interested in long-term, sustainable pricing rather than temporary promotional discounts.

I welcome offers involving:

  • Idle or unused dedicated servers
  • Returned or cancelled customer equipment
  • Fully depreciated hardware
  • Refurbished enterprise servers
  • Datacenter warehouse and clearance stock
  • Private wholesale arrangements
  • Exclusive reseller inventory
  • Unlisted or custom dedicated server configurations
  • Permanently discounted recurring contracts

Providers with publicly listed prices above my budget are welcome to contact me if they have private inventory or special arrangements that can meet the $25/month recurring limit.

Please note:

  • The $25/month limit is the final recurring budget.
  • Monthly billing is required.
  • No first-month-only discounts.
  • No introductory pricing that increases upon renewal.
  • No mandatory paid management services.
  • No unexpected recurring fees.
  • Any one-time setup charges must be clearly disclosed separately.
  • PayPal is the preferred payment method.

9. Provider Reliability

I'm interested in working with a legitimate and reliable infrastructure provider capable of supporting long-term production hosting.

Smaller independent companies and specialized datacenter operators are welcome, provided they offer dependable hardware, stable connectivity, and accessible technical support.

I value reliable infrastructure, clear billing terms, transparent communication, and consistent service quality.

10. What to Include in Your Offer

If you have a suitable server available, please provide:

  1. Exact CPU model, core/thread count, and performance details.
  2. RAM capacity, type, and ECC support.
  3. NVMe and HDD configuration.
  4. Network port speed and unmetered bandwidth policy.
  5. Datacenter location.
  6. IPv4 allocation and PTR/rDNS availability.
  7. Outbound SMTP port 25 availability.
  8. KVM/IPMI or remote management availability.
  9. Any one-time setup fees.
  10. Final recurring monthly price and renewal conditions.
  11. Current inventory availability and provisioning timeframe.
  12. Accepted payment methods.

I'm primarily interested in concrete commercial offers backed by available inventory, rather than general discussions about retail pricing or market conditions.

If your company has suitable private inventory, warehouse clearance equipment, or an exclusive long-term offer, please feel free to reply here or contact me via private message.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Exactly 🤣

  • Just to clarify, this is a WTB request for a monthly dedicated server rental, not a request to purchase new hardware

I'm specifically targeting datacenter operators and providers with fully depreciated, idle, returned, cancelled, or clearance hardware, as well as those with private wholesale pricing

I'm not asking anyone to match my budget on brand-new retail hardware, nor am I expecting every provider to be able to offer these specifications at this price

The purpose of this thread is to find out whether a provider has suitable unused inventory that can be offered under a sustainable, long-term recurring agreement

If you have a concrete offer that meets the requirements, you're welcome to share it or contact me privately. Otherwise, I'd appreciate keeping the discussion focused on actual offers rather than general opinions about the budget

    Thank you

The power and bandwidth alone will cost most providers more then $25

  • Thank you for your comments.

Just to clarify, I'm fully aware of the difference between standard retail dedicated server pricing and special pricing for older, fully depreciated, returned, cancelled, or idle hardware.

I'm not suggesting that every provider can profitably offer these specifications for $25/month, nor am I asking anyone to sell hardware or operate at a loss.

However, dedicated servers with surprisingly competitive recurring prices have existed, including legacy configurations with 64GB RAM, modern-enough processors, and NVMe storage.

There is a difference between what most providers normally charge and what may be available through specific clearance, legacy, or private inventory arrangements.

I'm looking to rent an unmanaged dedicated server, not purchase new hardware, and I'm open to configurations that meet my actual performance requirements rather than insisting on the latest hardware.

My budget is fixed, and I'm perfectly comfortable waiting for a suitable opportunity rather than paying more for something outside my requirements.

I respect that not every provider can accommodate this request. That's completely understandable.

The purpose of this thread is to connect with providers who may have suitable inventory, not to debate whether every datacenter can offer it.

If you have a relevant offer, I'd be happy to consider it. Otherwise, I appreciate your understanding and would prefer to keep the discussion focused on available opportunities.

    Thank you.

I don’t think you need AI to reply everytime to the thread.

Even legacy hardware still has costs in terms of power, bandwidth and in the current market this is still a huge ask

are you aware of the fact that even when a server is cancelled/returned, they go back to the stock with the same price? many providers just do it this way.

  • TLDR; wants a Ferrari for 25 usd p/m

First, I use AI to help write and translate my replies solely to ensure that the English is accurate, properly worded, and free of spelling and grammatical errors.

Second, regarding your comments, with all due respect, I believe there are several aspects of this industry that you may not be fully aware of. However, I have no intention of engaging in a lengthy debate or allowing this discussion to drift away from its original purpose.

That said, my friend, I firmly believe that datacenter operators are capable of meeting my requirements without much difficulty. Unfortunately, in today's market, the desire to maximize profit margins often takes priority.

I am also aware that when a server is returned to inventory, it generally retains the same pricing associated with the previous customer's contract.

Ultimately, I am simply looking for an established, reputable, and reliable infrastructure provider capable of fulfilling my requirements.
