Thanks for the giveaway! I would use this VPS as a monitoring/uptime-check node and for hosting a small personal site in Asia. Question about AS4658: do you plan to add more locations besides Hong Kong in the future?

  • KeyGenMeKeyGenMe Member

    I'm in, let's hope I get lucky.

    HAProxy!!
@netfront I see AS4658 has 1 Filipino IP prefix, do you intend on expanding or have you already ^^

Hello, Netfront team from Hong Kong!
If I win, I plan to use the VPS to uptime monitor other instances and to sharpen my system administration skills by working with control panels like cPanel, AdminBolt and others. A VPN certainly wouldn't go amiss in these challenging times, either. Good luck to all the participants.

If I were to win the prize,I would use it to set up a VPN.
    Good luck!

  • ElChileElChile Member

I would use the VPS as a regional DNS server for my geocast DNS.

  • FubukiFubuki Member

That's a nice AS you have there. Would love to enter in the giveaway. a HK node is nice

  • Another DN42 member here, so I take all cheap (or free ;) ) VPSs I can get in locations I'm not already present in.
VPS would become a router in DN42, and also serve bunch of stuff (repo proxies, ...) there. Publicly, only bunch of Wireguard tunnels.
Hope the network quality (esp. packet loss and jitter) and uptimes are OK, or I'd have to make it an idler ;)

@luckypenguin said: Question about AS4658, why so many invalid ROA?

They are leaking single IPs to a collector I think, mostly ignored in actuality (they are /32s and almost all .0, .1, .254)

  • JabJabJabJab Veteran

I will use this VPS to host a proxy for that VPN so I can just use proxy rather than VPN.
    Crazy.

Very good news indeed.I hope I win.

    Entering:

    1. I am already a member here as you can see
2a. Question about AS4658: Why are you here? You're an established business, so why targeting the low-end and unmanaged side of hosting?
2b. Question about services: where are your terms of service in English? Usually there's some link at the footer of the website for terms and policies, but I can't see this on Netfront.
    2. My reason is simple: testing your service, doing some benchmarks, checking the peering, checking connection for personal and casual VPN in Asia (I'm from EU).

EDIT: Forgot to tag you — @netfront
