High bandwidth

While looking for some vps I saw a few people saying 5TB isn't enough.

What are you guys running that uses multiple TB in a single month 😅?

    😂

  • Hmmmm, 5TB would barely survive the warm up. Give me 1PB.

Site packages that most of of our business customers order from include limits

Very few of our LET specials do not have limits.

    Hello.

In our VPS we allow more than 5TB per month!

We usually allow up to 99TB. If the usage is not excessive then you can use more

    Check our VPS in Europe:
    https://alexhost.com/vps/vps-europe/

We highly recommend you check Romania, Sweden and more. If you wish the cheaper price from VPS then to with Moldova location.

We have many locations in Europe (Ping, Traceroute and more)

Tor relays. Highest for one server is about 50 TB/month, but most servers use less.

We have some customers (agreed in advance) pushing 30/40TB a day without issue

I read that and thought "well that's pretty strict, they have to ask permission for that?" until I re-read it and saw you said per day. Damn.

If someone is fair with me, I aim to be fair in return.

We have recently provided a number of dedicated servers with unmetered bandwidth on 10G connections

To prevent issues like this on most of our LET clearances we use hardware such as

    Processors: 4 x Xeon Gold 6138 20 Core CPU
    Memory: 1024GB
    30+ TB SSD
    10G (soon 25G)

When a client has needs such as this we can review assigning a dedicated core or something while keeping things in the lower end too

Will you have anything on a cheap yearly deal for around £20?
Big ask at today's prices I know

What type of spec would you be seeking, we maybe able to do something.

This is something we would share as a discord server offer overall as that way most are already customers and can assume very little abuse

I am sure we can do something like that

Between the space we have on our current hardware and the up and coming node as we listed above.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of services requires TB's per day?

I mean as a consultant I run into services that constantly hits numbers like that and even more, but I can assure you that none of them are running on lowend hosts, they use the big players or run their own datacenters and we are talking hundred of thousands of users. It does not fit well with $7/y vps's.
I'm just trying to wrap my head around what kind of service requires TB's per day but is not important enough to run on serious infrastructure. Tor relays are mentioned a lot, but is that really that kind of traffic?

We see people running “private VPN” for friends and family, relays, backup servers that then sync to 3/4 other servers, we have some customers who backup other servers to us using tens of tb’s a day

Personally, I have a lot of silly personal projects that all have to involve lots of data, for some reason...

I was doing around 10-12 TB/day when I was downloading, processing and ingesting data from Common Crawl.

As someone who has designed backup solutions for over a decade I must assume that they are doing something seriously wrong. If you have to send TB's of data per day over the internet just for backup, your design is seriously flawed.
Not saying you as in you, you are just the provider.

We just provide the bare metal hardware, the providers rent it and do as they require

This was my question really what are people running to incur multiple TB/day or month
